[cite]Posted By: LenGlover[/cite]Shame they don't make that much noise chanting positively during the matches in my view.

    seconded.

"We want our charlton back" and "sack the board" singers are a discrace in my opinion. The board have put nothing but money and time into the club, and no one wants it to fail. its not your club to want back, its theirs and if you want a bit of it, stump up.
  • crying into my pint in the pub
  • Sack the board is ridiculous but I think 'we want our Charlton back' is more aimed at the manager and players.

We are not used to seeing our team give less than 100% even when we have had a worse team than the current lot. Hopefully Parky will get the team at least giving 100%, chasing everything and knowing their own job, then we can sing @weve got our Charlton back'

No proper Charlton fan is anti the board, I dont think?
  • surely if we "sack the board"... our "friendly" £15million debt with them turns a bit "unfriendly"? or is it written in the payment schedule as long-term whether they are still at the club or not?

    silly talk in my opinion

I was on the Loop train home with 40 mins left to play.

I simply had enough, and if I hadn't have left I would have been asked to leave, i think.

Got home to see the pictures of the 'mob' on SSN and felt extremely embarrassed. How anyone can laugh and jump around when someone is losing their job is beyond me. I believe he had to go, but I would never stoop to the level of idiocy that I saw on TV.

I recognised some faces (one in particular) and can't wait to ask them why they feel what they were doing was constructive or necessary when it was more than apparent that AP was out the door before the final whistle.

    Idiots. All of them.
  • Couldn't disagree with you more Suzi. It's all our club whether your paying a tenner to get in , 3 grand for a bit of corporate or £500K to become a director.

Personally I'm all for chasing the players around Sparrows Lane booting em up the arris! ala Lazio styleee but me doing the chasing bit obv.

*looks above* I think Rothko had the right idea.

it is a fans club. cos they're fans too.

bloke in front of me turned to his son with 15 mins to go and said "do you want to go now or do you want to stay till the end so we can boo?" the boy said "stay and boo"

    I shook my head sadly.

  • Suzi I think they have the right to do it as long as they don't get out of order.

Bar getting your face on SSN I don't see the point to be honest.
  • No she did shake her head sadly!

yep. there were all kinds of numpties around me on satudray and my row must have been the only row that people stayed in. i wanted to move and sit near Les for the last 15 mins as i wanted to get out as the final whistle went, but couldn't because i had 10 people sitting to the left and right of me, and hate disrupting the game. I had to try to squeeze out avoiding them all barking and boo'ing in my ear. 3 blokes sitting a couple of rows behind me picked on Sam the whole game (ok, entitled to opinion but they were ridiculous and started pardew out after 10 mins) they told Sam to get up when it was Semedo down injured and the guy i sit next to turned round and told them it was semedo so they proceeded to call him w**ker for the rest of the game and then 10 mins before half time went down to the concourses but looked back to give us evils. I went to the kiosk to get a pasty and they moved on purpose to obstruct me when trying to get past.

2 weeks ago they stood up singing 'loyal supporters' all through the 2nd half, and promptly sang it whilst leaving on 85 minutes. I want to move seats. idiots.

so many people jump on the bandwagon and don't think for themselves. the cameras provide all kinds of distraction and people were proud to be seen almost revelling in their own clubs misery.
  • I too am surrounded by idiots where I sit haha

haha, i asked what they had left, was told just cornish pasties, but there were 2 different looks of pasties. so i asked what the other ones were, they said cheese puffs, so I asked for one of them. got back to my seat, opened it up, took a bite. oh...cornish pasty!

    tasty though.
  • I was there till they started shouting about the board and a holigan shouted out stab pardew which was out of hand.
Saw some players after the game not one of them wanted to mention pardew. Hope we don't have a problem with the next manager!!

I went down at 1-1 because a fella behind me was going to lose a few teeth. I stayed down getting steadily pissed until 5-2 then went back up and started singing some old songs with MCS.

I have never got that angry with one of our own supporters, ever.

I was happily strolling past the baying mob on the way to more lager at the lib and thought it was all a play for Sky cameras to be honest.

Have to admit that I was one of the two hundred (or thousands if you read the News of the World) at the demonstration. Wasn't entirely comfortable with being there but felt that the message had to be sent to the board that they had to act then and not in a few weeks.

From what I could see from looking around me about fifty of the 'mob' where excitable teenagers happy to be part of something but the rest were a pretty decent cross section of supporters so you can't tar everyone there with the excitable idiot / boo boy brush.

The 'Sack the board' and 'Weaver out' chants were idiotic but were not sung by everyone by any means.

Hopefully now Pardew has gone those 'fans' who spend the game booing the team will get off the players backs and we as supporters can get behind the team and rediscover some of the stength in the face of adversity that got us through the Selhurst and Upton Park years.
