    I hope the sale will go quicker if we get promoted to the Championship but ethier way I can't see much investment in the team at the moment.

    (1) I think we'll be sold at some stage in the season, wont be quick enough to save us from relegation back to League One though

    (2) Hackett-Fairchild / Lapslie / Morgan etc. will HAVE to step up; we'll maybe get another free transfer like Taylor (more in the Pratley mold), the rest will be loans, how that squad copes in this league is anyones guess

    (Although the first part of (2) is what I believe our transfer business will be regardless)

    The asking price will increase with promotion and it will be vastly over its market value.

    But maybe some mug would be more willing to pay it if we were only one level down from the Prem?

    I think he'll be more tempted to sell at a lower asking price due to the financial graveyard that is the league

    Why else did we see the Australians at the Valley in scarfs etc. for the Play-Offs yet then go quiet straight aeay after... For me it was because Roland put the price back up due to not being at threat of the Championship

    I’m just enjoying the moment because either way under Roland Duchatelet pain is just round the corner. Why can’t dreams come true and an owner come along who we could cherish.

    I hope.... we go up and either..

    a. we are bought quickly and we get aribo and Cullen and bielik to stay.

    b. roland is persuaded to finance the retention of the above 3 and Bowyer 

    the result of both of these is a team that with the addition of 2 or 3 good players, can have a go again next term and finishes 4h before winning the playoffs. this is a really decent squad. keep it together and something really good could happen. 

    theres a real opporntitly here for someone.

    1. If we get promoted to the Championship, RD will sell some players, fail to renew contracts on others, sign too few replacements, look to cut costs as much as possible and become the worst owner in the Championship.

    It’s a myth that the club would necessarily lose more money in the Championship than in L1. Charlton would get about £7-8m in additional revenue and it isn’t necessary to spend that much extra to survive with a decent manager - see Millwall in 17/18. They lost £4m and finished eighth.

    But this is Duchatelet that we are talking about. 
    We'd probably finish a tailed off 24th under new manager Lieven De Turck, using a squad of only 18 players, with an average age of 12, while still managing to lose £14m.
    RD really is a visionary.

    1. Roland will have a change of heart, apologise for all the mistakes he has made and give Bowyer and JJ long term contracts and a pile of cash to strengthen a push for promotion to the Premier League. 

    2. Same as every other year.
