1613, Fire destroys London's Globe Theatre.
To sell or not to sell that is the 65 million pound question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of my disappearing outrageous fortune. Or take arms against the graffiti artists in a sea of trouble. By opposing the EFL end them ? To die: to no more; and by 1613 sleeps to say we end the heartache of Charlton fans and the thousand natural mistakes made in shock. Be all my sins remembered, ugh.

Well done to all the fans who attended the Fans Forum I was actually surprised to read such challenging questions on the OS, only on the basis i'm not sure I've ever seen such wording used and published by the club without watering it down.

Personally I don't believe a word from LDT that a price has been agreed and can't believe how gullible Sky or whoever has published this non-story are. I don't believe any deal is close or will be until we're back in The Championship. That's not to say I don't think the Aussies or British or whoever aren't watching closely but I feel if we don't get promoted we're stuck with RD for another year and another total rebuild of the squad.

Since this thread started I think Bolton have been taken over twice now. I'll believe it when I see it. WIOTOS.

I believe that as season tickets are now on sale for next season the club is about to be sold.
Just as it was last season.
This is just another pathetic attempt to squeeze as much money out of us as he can..
Full respect to anyone going to these meetings but I don't trust what the buggers are telling us one bit.

Was anything mentioned about the £30m bid from a 'former banker'?
    No
This is even more disappointing than the crock if shit Ldt rolled out - suggests the standard also served up a crock of shit

Only asked because of the recent link to Nicola Cortese which would tie in with some of the Bidder 5 elements of LDTs response.

1612, 10 witches from Pendle Lancashire are hanged after being found guilty of witchcraft.
Alice Nutter was an ancestor of mine.

    Just saying.

As regular as clockwork. Around Christmas time we hear that a takeover is imminent ( pre transfer window). Around this time of year we hear that a takeover is imminent (season ticket sales). Every sodding season.

I can't understand all this fuss about a fire. It's only a building.

That’s because the start of the transfer windows are the optimum time to buy a club, not because it makes any difference to the revenues or operations of the business.

Am I being too cynical by suggesting that it is also a great excuse for Roland not to spend in the window ?

Isnt he at risk of having all his assets frozen as a Russian.  Would be very Charlton for it to happen to us.

Is there a long way before the deal is done? Haven't seen any mention of timescales so would be interested to know from those with better knowledge of these things, how long it takes when a bidder has exclusivity.
Hello @Valley11 - seeing as you asked this question in April 2017, I feel qualified to say that, yes, there probably was a long way to go.

But we are not there yet.

  • 30th June is two months away.  You'd hope someone actively trying to buy would get it faster. Sounds like more of the same.

Do people genuinely and seriously buy into this fiction that this LDV Vans fella regurgitates on a monthly basis?
The reason why he keeps peddling this utter tripe is because he reads this forum and knows that people get really excited about the fairly tales and yarns he spins! It’s the same rubbish that we’ve been hearing time and time and time again, and yet people pitch up to these masquerades of a meeting and treat LDV Vans  like he’s the love child of the despicable Jim White!
It’s beyond any sense of normality and comprehension that he’s even given the time of day! We’ve had this bull for over 12 months now; starting with the complete farce that was the Australian ‘bid’, through to fictitious British bidders, bankers, and now another overseas interested party! Laugh, I nearly went to Ethiopia!
You’ll forgive me for being aghast at this latest tripe, but experience has proven that LDV Vans is taking us all for a ride under the behest of our tyrant of an owner!
Always been a game, always will be a game to these clowns.
I’ve said it time and time again, it’s Duchatelet ‘payback’, and the last year or so has proved that!!!

You're a bit off your game happyvalley. Still better to be a little late than premature my wife tells me.
