The Rise is South London’s Footballers

Interesting piece by Sky a sports News just now on the how much of a conveyer belt for young talent South London has become in recent years.

Aribo and Marshall were interviewed about growing up in our area and how playing in the football cages helped shape their close control and skill. The full report is on Soccer Saturday today.

*warning - this programme infers that Croydon is part of South London and includes interviews with Crystal Palace players

As that map clearly shows, Charlton is far more EAST London than SOUTH.

The notion of Palace pitching themselves as some sort of definition of being ‘South London’ makes me sick.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again there is no such place as Crystal Palace.
