Lee Bowyer, Jackson and Steve Gallen appreciation thread

Really impressed with the work they've done for us without the lack of support from Roland in terms of investment. They're making us play like an inteligent side and if we get promoted then this should be the best managerial achievement since Curbs.
IF/WHEN we get new owners I really hope they give Bowyer and Jackson a proper contract with investment! Imagine where we'd be if they had proper backing?

Add Steve Gallen to that appreciation society too
The connection between him and Bowyer seems so cruical yet feels a bit under rated at times - Dont think we'd have signed half the players in the summer had it not been for him - No discredit to Lee but having been out the game for a while I wonder how clued up he is at the moment with regards to youth players like Bielik / Cullen without the scouting from Steve11 -
Good point, have edited the title thread.ForeverAddickted said:Add Steve Gallen to that appreciation society too

Two things come out of that interview. First, he'll get headhunted by someone much higher up the league ladder than us. Second, he's doing Katrien's job on probably a lot less money.Scoham said:1 -

Superb interview. Steve Avory is right to be added - so too should be Jason Euell. RD doesn't know just what a lucky man he is but by the time he does finally realise what a great club we are it will be too late.

If only we had a half decent owner we'd have the perfect set up that would genuinely stand a good chance of getting us back to the premier league. Fear this may end up as a huge opportunity missed.2

Great interview. And to be fair, another Robinson appointment0

Call me cynical, but I always thought Robinson wanted to surround himself with "Charlton people" to protect himself from the fans. Particularly after meeting with the "President " and Katie comments.killerandflash said:Great interview. And to be fair, another Robinson appointment1 -
Well done to all.0

Gallen wasn't a Charlton person. Indeed most people were baffled why he had appointed a QPR academy coach to lead our scouting and recruitmentT_C_E said:

I find it hard to believe how lucky we have been to have these three who work together so well.1

A very good interview that. Really interesting to hear about how he's improved players like Williams and Taylor, I hope Albie Morgan is listening to him1 -
Great interview.
Have heard from a very reliable source that Huddersfield wanted the trio and offered very good packages - but they all want to stay and continue the job.
You have to say there are a lot of clubs where the manager would up sticks and go but we do have a very special club - especially so at the moment3 -
Losing all 3 would have been a disaster. It certainly helps that all 3 are Southerners, with their roots and families around LondonSwisdom said:Great interview.

How proud did that make you feel reading... “we are both Charlton men” FACT...,certainly tugged on my heart strings...
JJ & Bows take a bow...👏👏2 -
Hats off to the 3 of them, they all bring something different and have there own unique qualities, they seem to have a great bond which creates an uplifting and infectious environment for all the players , especially the young ones
Long may this continue , enjoy the good times

I continue to be amazed by Lee and his whole approach.
The three of them clearly compliment one another.
It's pretty amazing.2 -
He just works on the basics, a winning mindset and gameplan ..... and keeps it simple.bingaddick said:I continue to be amazed by Lee and his whole approach.

Who would have thought 2 years ago we would have such a brilliant managerial set up?
And all of them in different roles were already at the club!

The principle behind it all it is simple enough, it is the execution that is truly amazing.0
