Well well well, what have we here? An interesting interview in the FT with the (original) Ronaldo

Ok, but what's it doing in this thread, you ask, quite reasonably. Well because of this little nugget:

The big one came last year. In a two-year stint in London, where he learnt English, he was approached to buy unfancied sides such as Charlton Athletic and Brentford. Instead, in September he acquired 51 per cent of Real Valladolid, a team in the lower reaches in La Liga, Spain’s top division, for €28m

So there we have it, another benchmark to add to the many that would show any reasonable person that anything over £30m for Charlton is ludicrously over-priced, and that any buyer of a club has options outside the English bubble that may be much more viable.

IF we're talking about the Fat Ronaldo, at least the chip portion would increase

Thinking about it....@CharltonMadrid would you know if Valladolid own their own stadium, and roughly what sort of TV revenue they would get in La Liga? If I recall, didn't it improve recently when they moved to a collective deal? And what sort of gates do they get?

Or how do they compare in terms of wage bill, to Villa, Leeds, WBA or Derby, 3 of which won't go up this season.......

If original Ronaldo bought us then I would of creamed my little pants. The best player to ever grace the game of football and one of my hero’s.

When’s the next update, need to know if the Aussies are halfway through their final form or if they’ve just drawn a giant cock and balls on it yet?

I remember when he joined us on loan from Inter Milan when recovering from injury.

Remember?  That brilliant tie-up we had with them?

Funnily looking @ Inter Milan's squad back then and Andrea Pirlo was just coming through

Ended up going on loan to Reggina in 1999/00 - Would be crazy to look back had he spent a season with us

"See I can sell clubs, it is the protests that are making my life difficult"

Is surely what he'll claim now about the inability to sell Charlton

What's that got to do with the price of fish?

the septuagenarian shitweasel is on record for wanting out of football
the happenstance that the douchebag has found a buyer for his failing Spanish 2nd division side has no bearing whatever on his tenure at Charlton
the wrinkled old lunatic has got lucky that his number plucking price for Alcorcon has met the valuation of a serial sports investor
it is well established that roly comprehends the square root of bugger all to do with football
Harris and his associates can acquire no more than 9.9% of Charlton, cos they own a chunk of the croydon craphole already.  There's no glimmer for us there.
Keep up the pressure, the protests and remember - not a penny more.

About as much as the 1600 odd pages on this thread!
It has some relevance I think.

I'm desperately trying to not think that the old scroat has deliberately offloaded to the bloke who owns the Surrey mob as a vindictive act, but instead I'm going to cling to the belief that he can now focus all of his (football related) time to selling us.

Like I said on the other thread, it has to be encouraging.
Proof that he wants out of football.

I di read a link that Josh Harris was looking to sell his share in Palace. A bit left field to become a major shareholder in Alcorcon though, and he was interested in buying us before Roland. What are his reasons for buying Alcorcon?  To have a link up with Palace?  or is it a case of Roland now wants out out and is now willing to get rid off all of the clubs and has agreed a price for us and Alcorcon to Josh Harris just to get rid. Am I right in thinking there has been 2 rumours flying around.. One was from an American Consortium and Australians? Is he the American one and will go part with Aussies?  Wasn't there rumours of someone who was linked to another club British?  I am hoping Roland ha dropped his price for Alcorcon and doing the same with us and now getting out. We keep saying this every summer but surely this is the best time to sell us with players out of Conttact and finishing 3rd. If we don't go up this would have been our best chance.

Harris tried to buy Charlton but Roland sold him Alcorcon instead.
