Addicks monitor Racon injury blow

CHARLTON physio Steve Allen says he is unsure about the length of time Therry Racon will be sidelined for after the midfielder sustained a knee injury last week.
The French star played the full 90 minutes in the Addicks’ 2-1 defeat at QPR last Tuesday, but complained of a swollen knee the next day and missed Saturday’s stalemate with Southampton.
Caretaker boss Phil Parkinson has admitted that Racon’s injury is more serious than first anticipated, and Allen hopes the 24-year-old won’t need an operation which could keep him out for months.
“Therry has a chondral defect of the patella and we are going to drain the knee of the fluid and give him an injection,” Allen told the South London Press. “After that we will monitor the injury and decide whether Therry needs an operation or not. If he doesn’t require an op then hopefully he will only be out for the short term. But it is a rare type of injury and we do not know for sure how it will react to the treatment so we have to keep an eye on it.”

Holland or Bailey? It's got to be Holland for me. Turning point with Bailey IMO was his cock-up for the first goal v Bristol City. For some reason that seemed to shatter his confidence because since then he's been pretty awful and hasn't stopped needlessly giving the ball away.0 -

Racon ready for resumption
French midfielder Therry Racon took part in a warm-up ahead of
Saturday's game and was due to resume full training this week, said Phil
Parkinson.
"We're glad of a week without a league game as we've got a few
injuries," said the manager after the defeat at Hillsborough three days
ago.
"Graeme Murty got a whack on the shin against Forest last week and he
got hit exactly in the same spot. Racon was with us, has been training
with our fitness coach and should be back in training by Wednesday."0 -
