More coverage than the Championship final?

I think a re-run of the most famous playoff final in history has definitely captured a broader imagination than a normal L1 playoff final would manage to.
Not it sure if it’s getting more attention than the Championship final, could just seem that way to us.3 -
First time there's been a rematch of any play off final fixture too.7

I'm surprised more hasn't been made of the Championship final being a Chelsea old boys final3

The story writes itself because of 1998...if you're a rather unimaginative journalist.
The best journalist will be the one that goes back to the first ever playoffs, there is a compelling story to be (re)-told in that one, and interesting connections and comparisons to be made.2 -
Half hour highlights of 1998 on Sky Sports Football (403) at 10 tonight.1

And 2 clubs who've both been newsworthy due to their failings. The "plastic pig throwers" against the Netflix boysDaddy_Pig said:Charlton v Sunderland are also big enough clubs at that level to satiate the torture porn appetite amongst the populous4 -
It does seem strange all this talk of the Charlton v Sunderland game and barely a mention of Leeds v Villa

We are a much bigger club than Norwich or Derby

Not for me. Norwich pretty much sell out every home league game no matter what level they play at and once beat Bayern Munich (we've never even qualified for a proper European competition). Derby have been known to get 30,000 crowds for Championship league games, they won the 1st Division Title...and beat us 4-1 in an FA Cup Final. I've seen us beat both of them plenty of times....but also seen us get beat by them plenty.1 -
Norwich and Derby have the advantage of being in Cities that dont really have any other League clubs, makes fan decision a lot easier than LondonSimonsen said:smudge7946 said:We are a much bigger club than Norwich or Derby

I'd class them as bigger than us though because we've been fucked around too long now, they're bigger than us because one is a Premier League club now and the other might be!!0
