1662, Samuel Pepys watches a Punch & Judy show in Covent Garden. It is the first showing in London.0

I'm at home watching fools and horses.
The jolly boys outing.
So I'm in a reasonably good mood.
Promised myself not to join this debate.
But.
Fuck it here goes.
The reason a sale of the club has not gone through is down to one person and one person only.
Roland you selfish senile ugly yellow toothed bastard lower your asking price sell the fuckin club and live the rest of your miserable life as far away from SE7 as is possible.12 -
I’d love to agree with you but I can’t.blackpool72 said:I'm at home watching fools and horses.

Nothing to do with the price then ?JamesSeed said:

Sorry Mr Seed but you told us (in good faith) that the deal would be done in 2 weeks fecking months and months ago and now it's not Rolands fault the sale ain't gone through !! WTF0
-
Or it's a bit of a rubbish attempt at getting the ex directors to move using the prisoner's dilemma.
The most Charlton of takeovers.0 -
The club not selling is and always will be because of Roland.
He's the only one that can sell the club.4 -
Mr White on twitter says he knows nothing about it. Says he was asked if he was prepared to discuss loan, and said ‘yes’. He has heard nothing since apparently.2

Exactly. WTF.Goonerhater said:Sorry Mr Seed but you told us (in good faith) that the deal would be done in 2 weeks fecking months and months ago and now it's not Rolands fault the sale ain't gone through !! WTF
Although technically I said the Aussies hoped the deal would go ahead in two weeks, which was what they were told. The whole thing is a clusterf*ck. (I believe that’s the correct term these days?)1 -
No, we are trying to use decent language these days.😉JamesSeed said:

After going on for over 2 years I have now given up all hope that this sale will ever happen.
I sincerely hope that I am wrong, but this sale has become a farce. Our hopes are raised only to be dashed a few days later.3 -
No one wants us. We don’t care!14
-
I may be wrong but this appears to be as near to a sale as we have ever been - isn’t he effectively saying that if the 3 directors waiver their loans, it’s done? We’re talking a few mil? Surely it will be sorted one way or another - looks like a last attempt to squeeze a bit out of who rd sees as the enemy1
-
Yet David White is tweeting that he hasn’t agreed anything!DOUCHER said:I may be wrong but this appears to be as near to a sale as we have ever been - isn’t he effectively saying that if the 3 directors waiver their loans, it’s done? Will keep an eye out for the bulletin!!!0

Ok got ya, thanks for sharing.JamesSeed said:
Not saying it wasn’t with the Aussies, I was saying I wasn’t told by the Aussies (for the usual reasons).Braziliance said:Looks like I am late to the party on this one, Muir was at Wembley?
Also @JamesSeed you said a price has been agreed but not by Aussies, any clue on who it could have been with?
Sorry for the ambiguity.0 -
Putting that in perspective. £20k would be a lot of money to all of us but .005% of £20k is £1.00NapaAddick said:
It would cost him .005% of his net worth! We should the man a break. Unlike billionaires, those in the £100-800M range are struggling these days.Valley27000 said:£2.65m Roland can't afford that lol for the directors loans.4 -
"Cooperation" meaning 4 have agreed to discuss but the other 3 aren't even entertaining a discussion??

Is the hold up with RedBull3

No clue if the case, but I wonder if the reason Bowyer has not bolted yet is....1. He knows who the new owners (might) be2. They have told him they will give him some "reasonable" money to spend3. They want to sign him, first thing, once it goes throughAnd so he is being more patient than he otherwise might be?9

Read the statement 4 times, for me there are too many past tense words and negative statements being used, or am I reading too much into it? For example -:
Our win at Wembley was fantastic and, as I mentioned, a credit to all involved.
Following the win, I was filled with hope as one of the parties interested in buying the club wanted to move forward quickly to complete the purchase of the club. They want to solve the issue of the ex-directors loans first, which I can understand but may take time.
Nevertheless, it is unlikely we will win as many games as we did in League One.
Then he blames everyone else but himself for the quite apparent mistakes HE made. I'm not feeling overly positive at this statement, I think we will still be under his ownership when next season starts, operating on a small budget, having lost some of our better players and relying again on youth. As for the comments on LB's contract, it reads to me as though he has been offered the same terms as last years contract and he just needs to sign an extension, if you were LB, after getting us promoted, wouldn't you expect a better package than that?
I smell RD getting excuses in early. Sorry for the scepticism, but I don't trust him at all.

You know it Red!2

But that's what makes it so difficult to understand. We are talking 3/6m that is holding this up. Surely the investment into the club is considerably more than that so how can any potential buyer see that as a stumbling block. They have probably invested around 1m in DD alone. It's just doesn't make sense.DOUCHER said:I may be wrong but this appears to be as near to a sale as we have ever been - isn’t he effectively saying that if the 3 directors waiver their loans, it’s done? Promotion to the PL will be worth what, 200m in 2 season, which would be a realistic aim. I'd love to think what Lee and Steve could do with say a transfer budget for 10m
Dreaming I know but potentially getting a 200m windfall off of a combined investment of say 70m (takeover, transfers, running costs etc) must surely be the goal0 -

1663, The Theatre Royal opens in Drury Lane.

1. He told the fans and the players that we are on a journey together. You can’t bail out at the first whiff of a fiver.NapaAddick said:No clue if the case, but I wonder if the reason Bowyer has not bolted yet is....1. He knows who the new owners (might) be2. 2. He does not give a shit who the new owners are or maybe because he can’t influence that. It is what it is.
3. He trusts his management team to get in the players that will make us competitive enough to stay in the league.
4. He has a promise that he can at least sign one good player for about £800k1 -

So David White has agreed nothing, only that he is willing to discuss matters.Covered End said:As Muir was at Wembley I'm assuming the Aussies have agreed a price.
The ex-directors not thanked by RD are, Derek Chappell, Robert Whitehand and David Sumners.
If I'm correct I'm assuming they have not as yet agreed a deal to pay off their loans, but Murray, Hatter, Hughes and White have agreed.
RD is saying that the prospective owner put forward by Varney is the current owner of Ebbsfleet, who has not been paying the bills on time for a considerable period.
Bowyer wants a basic wage, higher than is currently on offer and negotiations will continue next week.
The playing budget is low (perhaps lowest in division) and we'll just have to get on with it.
So perhaps those he thanked have agreed to talk about their loans and the others have said there is nothing to discuss, because we want repayment in full ?0
