What was he doing in Scotland?21 -
Probably the same number of times we hear "league 2 or worse" "it will take decades to recover" or "he is doing it out of spite"?Goonerhater said:FFS really !!!!! how many times are we going to hear "might as well wait till January"? Every fecking year the Rats been in charge we here it ---- be it transfer targets or the sale. We could be rock bottom with a team of kids and nobodies just how is that an incentive to prospective new owners ? With the deluded twonk in Belgium still holding out for £30plus million.
Its now in the next month or i fear for CAFC as anything other than league 1/2 makeing up the numbers
For what it's worth when it happens I would imagine it will be either while a transfer window is open, or just before one. That's my opinion not a wish or desire.0 -
Sorry mate. Had to cancel at the last minute.Henry Irving said:Just arrived in Belgium. In hotel.

The only person to get all of his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe... Facthappyvalley said:1686, Robinson Crusoe leaves The Island of Despair to return to England.6 -
Aussies need too hurry up .2
-
Don’t understand the guy! Sounded like he just wants to get rid of when speaking to Jim White. Just split the loans with the Aussies or negotiate paying 66% and split. Do something. If I had a pain in the ass business and all the money in the world I would get rid of it ASAP but maybe that’s why I am not rich.0

I don't understand RD wants too sell club for over two years.0

There are a whole host of reasons the Aussies want clean titleRufus_Ambition said:I appreciate the efforts of people with connections in either camp for passing on as much information as they can.
But the absence of any definitive information means that a worrying picture is emerging. Logically, as mentioned previously, the reason that the Aussies want the loans to be cleared is so that they can borrow against the club's physical assets, namely The Valley and Sparrows Lane. This suggests that they don't have the funds to run the club without leveraging these assets. This could leave us in a very precarious position if things don't go as well as anticipated and the borrowed money runs out.
I hope that this is a mis-reading of the situation. Along with the rumours of Bowyer and Gallen preparing to walk, it's a nerve-wracking time to be a Charlton fan (again).
1) They dont want the £7m hanging over them if we do get promoted.
2) They dont want this holding up any potential sale when they exit (as it is now)
3) They have made an offer at their valuation but see this as a contingent liability which means they are paying more than they are prepared to
4) They plan to redevelop the ground, training ground and want to borrow to enable them to do this
5) They are borrowing to buy and need the security to keep the cost of borrowing down
6) They plan to sell the football club and keep the assets (which Roland wants to do)
7) They plan to keep the football club and sell the assets (hopefully not to Roland
Its not all bad news!
Presumably conjecture as it is contradictory.
Just pointing out that wanting clean title doesn't necessarily mean we are immediately going to be mortgaged up to our eyeballs2 -

5/2 to get relegated as things stand, only Barnsley are more likely to go down according to the bookies.
The feeling now in comparison to how we felt just over a fortnight ago is completely different. Roland has and continues to single handedly destroy everything positive to do with the club. It’s almost as if because we got promoted in spite of him, that spiteful part of Roland has taken over once again.
I haven’t commented on this thread for a long time, just been observing, but goodness me I am so done. I can’t take anymore with the future of our club. It needs sorting otherwise what we feel the rebuild is going to take is going to be far, far worse.7 -

How do you say ‘It’s happening’ in Spanish.0

Isn't Josh Harris also involved in the Alcorcon consortium?0

For the benefit of anyone saying this has nothing to do with spite I have to disagree.
He is a hateful spiteful cnut.
Otherwise he would have been reasonable and sold.3 -

Spitful no. If it was pure spite he wouldn't have given Bowyer the job in the summer period. It would have been a "network yes man". No Taylor, no Pratley, no loans, no under 23 squad, BFG, Aribo and Pearce all gone last summer. Solly realesed on the 1st of September. East stand closed, away fans in the covered end and a grand a pop for a season ticket in the west stand for those that still wanted one.5 -

A spiteful hateful prick.3 -
He doesn’t care about money he doesn’t care about losing money he is past that point of personal wealth the asset has a net value he is happy to mess around with it probably helps against his tax liability having a loss making company that has a decent value on property and land
He is a vindictive spiteful old c u next Tuesday that’s all
when he grows bored of playing with us he will sell not before

I think that Duchatelet must get off on messing around: the Australians - by moving the goalposts; Lee Bowyer - whose popularity he may unconsciously envy or resent; and the club's supporters - who he probably delights in tormenting by way of revenge for his self-inflicted humiliations.
Part of this may be attributable to a personality disorder - certainly the need to assert himself and show that he's somehow in charge - and part of it may be explained by wealth-related arrogance - i.e. "I can afford to sit this out unless and until I decide otherwise". Easy to do, of course, if you don't care about the fortunes of the team or the club, which he demonstrably doesn't.
Roland would be an ideal candidate for the old Radio 4 show 'In The Psychiatrist's Chair' but, sadly, Professor Anthony Clare died in 2007. I can imagine the latter asking: "So when you saw that disconcertingly realistic papier-mâché model of you ....or when you were subjected to the eviscerating cross-examination of Simon Jordan on TalkSport, how did that make you feel, Roland ?"
