I'm guessing promotion put a huge spanner in their pretty pitiful attempt.3 -
Maybe Dalman's not actually interested, but he's put this story out to force the Aussies to complete because even he's sick of hearing about their never-ending takeover saga

The club has a price around the £30m mark that potential buyers seem willing to pay. Duchatelet wants a lot more and it is highly unlikely intelligent people will buy us at the price that has been reported he wants.1

He can and probably will out of spite .grumpyaddick said:Surely, not even Roland can screw this up.
He must know that (no thanks to him) this is his best time to sell the club for a decent price.
Now or never Roland.0 -

I'm never usually hopeful. Always negative.
I genuinely feel optimistic about this. Just have a good feeling!2 -
Be nice to think it will happen but I don’t have such hopesDave2l said:I'm never usually hopeful. Always negative.

There was a young Belgian called Roland Duchatetelet,
Who said he would sell Charlton without dismay.
He said there must be a buyer out there somewhere,
But none would match his asking price I do declare.
Everyone who tried negotiating with Roland found that he had lost his reason,
With the result that he will be with us for at least one more season.0 -

His electronics business aside, can you find anything in Rolands past that he hasn’t screwed up? He’s the poster boy for failed big ideas.blackpool72 said:

Unless he is a spiteful vindictive bastard who likes to see us suffer.0 -
Has Duchatelet or LDT released their “these things take time” statement yet?4

I seriously don't think Roland operates out of spite. His motivation is to make as much money as possible. He will sell to the highest bidder, or one that allows him to retain the Valley and training ground, when HE decides to.5 -
So maybe Roland will drop them like a lead balloon for this guy?Laddick01 said:Cawley saying it’s not imminent but Dalman does have the ‘financial power to compete in the championship unlike others’
Basically confirming what some on here have thought, the Aussies don’t have the cash to be a viable option.1 -

He obviously has few scruples so why should he worry about dropping anyone if someone with a bigger offer comes along?Ferryman said:

If Mehmet or Tan try and change our shirts to red then that’s me done with Charlton.73

Maybe Dalman has been the missing piece of investment the Aussies have been looking for?
Dalman gets part ownership & the Chairman’s seat that he craves and the Aussies get their football club.3 -
