Only an ardent Rangers fan would advise him to go to Scotland . If he wants to go, fair enough, but there will be good offers from the championship - Bauer is nowhere near the talent he is and he’s being paid well by Preston0
-
Goodbye Joe, Enjoy your trips to Ross County and Livingstone ...0
-
Doesn’t seem a great move for him , tbh, but for the cash.1
-
Great headline on this site
Aribo is known for being Grants mate is he haha

I know players have no duty to us as fans but would be nice to know a bit about what’s happening0

Being coached by Gerald is a step down for his career - Bowyer would improve him - Gerald will not - and it is shit football6

Most players will take the contract put in front of them, rather than what could happen in the next year. Jam tomorrow.3

I doubt many people expected LB to be a success and to be such a diplomat dealing with our bonkers owner.0 -

rangers - lets not forget the issues they had so were undergoing a rebuild, personally cannot see them challenging for title in next 3/4 years, and will likely finish 2nd.

Derby since we were relegated from the Premier League
2007/08 - Premier League - 20th. (11 Points) R
2008/09 - Championship - 18th (54 Points)
2009/10 - Championship - 14th (56 Points)
2010/11 - Championship - 19th (49 Points)
2011/12 - Championship - 12th (64 Points)
2012/13 - Championship - 10th (61 Points)
2013/14 - Championship - 3rd (85 Points) PO
2014/15 - Championship - 8th (77 Points)
2015/16 - Championship - 5th (78 Points) PO
2016/17 - Championship - 9th (67 Points)
2017/18 - Championship - 6th (75 Points) PO
2018/19 - Championship - 6th (74 Points) PO
This shows two things:
1. They don't end up in the play offs most years.
2. The Championship is a different challenge every year.
Just incase you're wondering how we have faired since we were relegated from the Premier League:
2006/07 - Premier League - 19th (34 Points) (Dowie/Reed/Pardew)
2007/08 - Championship - 11th (64 Points) (Pardew)
2008/09 - Championship - 24th (39 Points) (Pardew/Parkinson)
2009/10 - League One - 4th (84 Points) (Parkinson)
2010/11 - League One - 13th (59 Points) (Parkinson/Powell)
2011/12 - League One - 1st (101 Points) C (Powell)
2012/13 - Championship - 9th (61 Points) (Powell)
2013/14 - Championship - 18th (51 Points) (Powell/Riga)
2014/15 - Championship - 12th (60 Points) (Peeters/Luzon)
2015/16 - Championship - 22nd (40 Points) (Luzon/Fraeye/Riga)
2016/17 - League One - 13th (60 Points) (Slade/Nugent/Robinson)
2017/18 - League One - 6th (71 Points) (Robinson/Bower)
2018/19 - League One - 3rd (88 Points) P (Bowyer)
This tells me we have had far too managers since the Premier League. Derby in that same time frame have had just 9 managers to our 16 and have certainly been more stable...
They also didn't have Roland 'Knobhead GaffaShoe' Duchatelet or Richard Murray making decisions on the managers the club chose.2 -

The hiring of big named former players is as much to do with, in my opinion, them having played at the level of the players they are going in to manage and will (to a degree) command a certain amount of respect from those players.
It shouldn't be the case but humans can be dismissive of those that haven't experienced what they've experienced.

Okay derby are an almost there club - tbh if aribo wants to leave i couldn't give a flying where he goes i think its a silly move to go to scotland as can dissapear quite quickly.0

If so they looked by far one of the stronger teams in the Division yet had a customary nose dive of form0 -
It really seems as though some on here would actively want Aribo to fail at Rangers just so they can eventually say “told you so”.
Personally, I think this is one instance where staying at Charlton really isn’t the best thing for him. And I hope that wherever he goes, be it Scotland or anywhere else, that he absolutely goes and smashes it.0 -

if he was joining a prem club would completely get it, but this does feel like a jump at the money at 1st opportunity, as with all these players they arent getting paid peanuts, gerrard leaves rangers and thats the coaching side of things out of the window, i think it speaks volumes when a manager of the most succesful scottish club in recent years fucks them off for a midtable premier league side, who arent never likely to challenge for the title any time soon.0 -
I was having sophisticated argument with a Rangers fan on twitter yesterday. It went on for a while.
To be fair...I do now actually see the point of view and the understanding behind it.
Scottish football is a different kettle of fish. It is not actually quite what we assume it to be.
An Old Firm derby like no other.
If Aribo is willing to give this a go.
Then full respect to him.1 -

Picked Rangers over Southampton as he’ll get first team football.0 -

Oops not Gerald ... Gerrard .... still bowyer a better bet to improve Aribo - despite Gerrard having all those accolades - does not make him a good manager - Karl Robinson can get rangers to finish second and runners up in the cup and eliminated in the knockout rounds of the cup ..... it’s is rubbish footy ...1

Mmmmmm....Gerrard to replace Benitez at Newcastle now that he is leaving...that would be interesting0
