I.e we soften the blow once we can announce a signing etc. It's very common.0

Well, that seems most likely, anyway0 -
Why should Rangers give a toss about when they announce Aribo? He’s out of contract with us anyway so it’s not as if there has been a transfer negotiation5

They are waiting for him to arrive in portugal for a photo with stevie.0

It will probably be announced once his existing contract has technically expired1

I take it we are ignoring the chap on Facebook claiming Aribo has failed the medical
Personally don't believe it but wondered if that's been discussed1 -

We're expecting a whole string of announcements on Monday 1 July then. Aribo going, new owners confirmed, a handful of new stellar signings. Thankfully I'll be lazing around a pool in Majorca with a very large gin and tonic (or ten) so will able to manage the excitement via the medium of a drunken stupor. But on the other hand .....

Aribo looked fit when he returned in Feb. Why wouldn’t we want him?
It doesn’t mean he’s a cripple.
if he has failed a medical then it’s probable that they are renegotiating his deal.
Makes no difference to us0 -
Midfielder Joe Aribo has joined Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
The 22-year-old opted not to agree to a new deal to keep him at The Valley and has made the move to join Steven Gerrard’s side, with Charlton set to receive an undisclosed training compensation fee as per FIFA regulations.

Honestly the way Rangers fans have celebrated this you’d think he was a world class CM. Not sure whether that says more about Joe’s potential or the state of the Scottish league.
I think he will do well there, but it’s important to remember he’s still a very raw footballer that as of yet hasn’t really played above league 1 level.3 - Sponsored links:

Seems that Rangers can turn him into a better player by facing the majority teams of a level we faced last season

Good financially, poor footballing move.5

They've already come up with a song for him!1 -

Didn't realise Southampton was full of nonces3

Be interesting to see how he does with the language barrier up there5

Disappointed another young player gone before we see the best of them. One day I hope we're in the position to keep these players and build a side around them.2
-
shit move for him i think
also for us is a shame he didn't go English as we would have received more and that cnut we call an owner might of given lee a bit
also those slating the academy wasnt joe bought in from non league?0 -

It's a great short term thing for him but he needs to head back south in a year or two to fulfil his potential and maximise his earnings2
