I honestly think we are too good for it.

No need to panic ladies and gents - we will come good and when we really get motoring

That first 25 mins the other nigh twas superb and once we can get a head of steam up and running - and get that performance for the whole game we will be a force to be reckoned with in this division.

We are still in touch with both ends of the table so play offs is as likely as bottom 6

    No team is EVER too good to go down - and we certainly ain't at the moment.

    I think we will struggle slowly up the table and miss out on all the end of season excitement. Then we are in a for an extended stay in this division until we locate another Curbs

    The first 25 minutes was superb. So thats 25 minutes we've played well for in about the last 6 weeks. And we still lost.
    Our defence continues to look shaky, our midfield lacks creativity, our strikers don't get any service and they miss the occasional chances we do create. So how that constitutes being too good to go down i don't know.

    We're not going down, not a chance. Time to prepare ourselves for at least 3-5 seasons in the Championship now I think.

    I think the West Ham fans thought the team of Cole, Carrick, Defoe, Di Canio etc were too good to go down as well. And the Leeds fans probably thought the same about their team as well.

    My son still has a mirror which says 'CHARLTON ATHLETIC DIVISION ONE' which I bought him 20 years ago to commemorate the day he was a nine year old match mascot v Portsmouth at Selhurst (Andy Jones scored in 17 seconds and he missed the goal cos Jackie from the Junior Reds was still escorting him back from the pitch to his seat!). On hearing of the takeover collapse, he's just got it out of the cupboard and says he's dusting it down to hang back up on his wall next season.

    I've told him very sharply to put it away again !

    i've just had a small wager on betfair at 7-5 (2.4 in betfair terms) i'm on there for a gentle £20 more... i've backed us to go down.. emotional hedge

    Who asked you? Who said I'm "so sure"? You seem to be putting words into my mouth - and not for the first time recently it seems. You want to be a bit moe careful with what you read into things mate.

    Oohahh said he wanted a bet so I'm asking him to give me some odds. Even "evens" is odds in a betting sense, as is odds on or odds against. I'm just trying to suss out what the bet might be and whether there is any value in it. I'm kinda figuring that someone might feel suicidal enough to offer me something crazy - if that's ok with you?
