  • I wouldn't play Holland and Semedo together as they are too similar in the way they play. It didn't work last season and there's no reason to suspect it would now imo.

To be honest, not sure that Shelvey is ready, haven't really seen enough of him, but needs must so I'd play him with Semedo because we really need someone that can create something.

Keep it the same, though I'd be tempted to drop Bailey.

Really need Racon back, Wright or Shelvey are the next best after him though.

Dickson and Todorov on the bench, though one of them at least will miss out as Burton will be there.

Agreed, not Holland and Semedo together. Nor Holland and Wright. But Holland and Shelvey looked really sound in that final match last season.

Bailey's not really firing on all 4 cylinders. But we are missing Racon.
  • A winning one would be nice.

  • Would never bring Youga back in, the brainless twerp, would like him shipped out in January.

Not keen on Bouazza though. . . .

    Bar that what VM says.

Same, he could really do with some competition. He's talented with potential but inconsistent with it like most wingers we've had over the last few years. Should have scored at least one of those chances on Monday.

At his best I'm happy with him, but we haven't seen that often enough.

Who was the last winger, apart from John Robinson, who wasn't criticised by us fans for being inconsistent? I think wingers are by their very nature inconsistent. Unless they're Cristiano Ronaldo.

Was an awful mistake from Basey for Derby's goal. And he's obviously very slow and doesn't seem to have much ability on the ball. But I don't think we have any better options. Youga is pretty nonchalant.

It simply has to be same as monday, but shelvy has to feature on bench to be brought on 2nd half to mix things up a bit

only person in threat is bailey for shelvey, but personally as much as I would love shelvy to start I don't think you should change the team from monday

That's a fair point, that's the thing, if they were consistent they wouldn't be playing for us. That's why it's good to have some competition.

Isn't McEveley meant to be fit in a matter of weeks now, not months? Sure I read that.

I think with Basey, he looks slower because he's playing left back. Not as if Holland is much faster but he can get away with it a bit more in the position he's playing and just knowing where to be because of his experience.

Having a defender on the bench like Moo2 or Youga is a waste of time IMO when Semedo can slot in to cover at either full back and Cranie can drop into the middle should injury dictate... if we can't have a CB on there as Primus is the loser in the loan rule stakes, we don't need anyone

Talking of Primus, when does he go back to Pompey - must be soon?

1-0 up early through a sublime Andy Gray finish, then in the 81st minute Sam gets a great chance to make it 2-0 but smashes a blinding shot against the post. The Birdie team hoof it high and clear, and suddenly their man is one on one with Elliott and, of course, scores.

With the scores level and Norwich pressure to get a last gasp winner, the ref checks his watch as Basey tries to clear but the ball hits Semedo in the bollox from a yard away. The ref awards a penalty and Semedo is red carded.

Elliott goes the wrong way, but with a wonder back somersault twists and palms the ball on to the post - and it goes in.
    Of course.
  • I would go with the same team as selected by Mr McMoist but with Youga and Basey swapping positions. Have wanted them to have a good run to see how it goes. Youga might be a good footballer just playing in the wrong position. Would love Bailey to hit a winner just like the kinsella stunner at Norwich a few years ago. 1-0 down 2-1 win Youga and Bailey the scorers.

Charlton I love you, please win

Just up the road for me. Looking forward to taking twenty minutes to get to a game instead of three hours!!

I really don't know what our best team is at the moment. I'd probably start with the team that started against Derby.

    Come on you reds.

According to Metro today McEverly expects to be fit. Should he replace Basey? I'm going with my Narwich boss and his wife although me and Mrs Large are in with our lot. Big game but I expect a draw.

What will you say to inspire him?

I can see a few supporters actually crying with joy when we do eventually win, alas I think it will QPR on boxing day that the run will be broken, so more pain for us fans in another narrow defeat this time.
  • I actually rate Bouzza and think that's he our most dangerous player going forward. Yes, he missed two bad ones on Monday but he has a good touch. pace and will run direct at their defence.
For me, he's got a bit of quality which is severely lacking in most areas of the team and I like to see his name on the teamsheet.
  • Weaver said at a recent meeting that the squad had been working on the 2nd ball, if McEveley plays and the paintballing bonding has worked, with a lot of noise, I think we could grind out a win. I'm hopeful but not expecting miracles. I'm expecting them on Boxing Day.
