First of all, good to see you back and looking forward to the game Saturday. Interested to hear your view of Mr Bowyer, tactically and man management wise, liked him as a player for Blues and was quite surprised when he went into management. Have you still got the idiot owners ? remember throwing balls onto the pitch last time we played.

    Bowyer surprised me, a very good player but i did not expect him to make a good manager.  He has been superb both tactically and man management and has built a super team around him with Gallen and JJ.  The owner is still there but seems to have lost interest so we have improved as his time and thoughts invested has reduced.  He seems to just leave it to Bowyer and co to run.  I personally do not see us challenging at the top throughout the season but those that under estimate us will certainly do so at their peril as we have shown already.  We have a squad who put their body on the line and fight every inch with no little skill and experience too.

    Greetings, Blues fan.  Yes, Bowyer is doing unimaginably well on the smallest budget in the division.  He has shaped a team in his own image: tough, resolute, attacking.  By all accounts he is remarkably calm in the dressing room.  He has grown up.

    Enjoy the game on Saturday.  I have a lasting affection for Brum, ever since my three years at Aston University in the early 1980s - and pub crawls of Victorian back-streets...

    I am pleased to see Birmingham doing better this season too. Bowyer is proving himself to be very special. Anybody who said they predicted it would be lying. We won't be able to agree on the outcome we want from Saturday, but I'm sure it will be a decent game. I'm sure your team will not underestimate us as some of you fans are doing. I hope they do though :) If you have better midfielders than Williams, Cullen and Gallagher and a better striker than Taylor, you will be up there this season. Two consecutive clean sheets too from our defence.

    It’s best not to go into too much detail of how we play tactically in case there are any Birmingham spies out lingering on here for extra insight :wink:

    Bowyer since becoming a manager has surprised us all, including himself to be honest. He never had any intentions of being a manager but has taken to it like a duck to water to be perfectly honest.

    We do play an attacking, attractive brand of football when we have a chance, but he’s got us playing with the fight and spirit that you would expect from Bowyer to translate into his players. He’s probably the best man manager we have had for a number of years, but he doesn’t take any nonsense. If you’re not giving 100% in training and in games, you aren’t going to be involved in Bowyer’s plans, no matter how naturally talented you are.

    Our start to the season has taken us all by surprise because it was only 5-6 weeks ago that we didn’t have a squad, let alone a team, capable of competing in this division. But as Bowyer proved when he first took over and again many times last season, he is capable of pulling things out the bag and we signed some very good players for this division. Our momentum from last season has helped us carry through the beginning of this season, but it would be foolish to think that we haven’t deserved the points we have picked up, because we genuinely do.

    We have our weaknesses like every side in this division and we are yet to see how we deal with losing a game. But with being at home, I think we will continue to surprise teams because The Valley has become a little bit of a fortress for us.

    Enjoy the game and travel down, but I hope you go back empty handed in terms of points.

    As any club, including ours, Birmingham have good and bad fans. Mostly good. Even Millwall have a few good fans.

    Ended up in the wrong end at at Brum in the mid to late 60's in the lower tier behind one of the goals. No segregation and got a bag of cold greasy chips on my head as the natives above us got restless prior to kick off. I was lucky it wasn't a bottle as our coach which was parked up the side of a nearby park came under a hail of bricks and stones after the game.

    Big Chris Slattery got of the bus to take the w*nkers on but got felled like Goliath and we managed to drag him back on board before making a speedy but draughty getaway with a few windows missing. Think we got tonked 4-0 that day, good job we never won! Millwall of the Midlands for sure 😡.

    Afternoon fella. To give you a little background on our team:

    - Our tactical style is somewhat amorphous, for want of a better term. We don't seem to have a particular regimen that we stick to and ask other teams to counteract. Rather, we have the squad and players to ensure effective adaptation to the opposition's main characteristics in both attack and defence.

    - We do have our own hallmarks though. In the likes of Gallagher, Williams, Oztumer, Leko, and Cullen, there is an abundance of imagination in the way we play the game. Our midfield is undoubtedly our strongest suit... though there's a definite lack of height across the team! 

    - Defence has question marks. I don't mean this as either a good or bad thing: currently, I'd class them as "busy but competent", and the fact they're busy makes them potentially more prone to mistakes (such is the nature of sustained pressure). This is because (and it's no secret) we play a very narrow shape, so the wings are easily focused on, and this allows pressure to build. 

    - Lyle Taylor baby.

    - Bowyer is working miracles on a shoestring budget. (Though how shoestring it is, I do not know - I can't imagine Hemed and Kayal are cheap.) Steve Gallen has done a fantastic job in scouting out the right players, too, and we have build a real team. It's difficult to emphasise just how true that word is of us at the moment: there is an awful lot of goodwill from the fans to the players, and the players amongst themselves. And Bowyer is a huge part of it: he's one of the key reasons we've been able to attract the players we have.

    - I think we have an unfairly harsh reputation for gamesmanship (no denying it happens though), and people remark we're built "in Bowyer's mould", which shows he hasn't quite shaken off the tags of his youth. And I doubt he ever will, but I am genuinely surprised at his redemption. He seems a hugely changed man since he's come back from his fishing lake in France.

    Ultimately, we're riding a huge wave of momentum, but we have the footballing ability to back it up. We've also very much been taken for granted by various opposition management, fans and indeed players. So our flying start is a combination of genuine talent; momentum; a relatively kind first few fixtures; and being written off as "little old Charlton".

    And we do still have Roland Duchatelet as our owner. Short may that continue.

    Never met a "good" bluenose personally just violent and/or mouthy arseholes.

    I remember being on the supporters' coach many, many years ago after an away defeat to Brum and one of their fans attacked the coach with a tree. A f*cking TREE! And we lost.

    Mate of mine's missus and entire family are blues fans. All good as gold and always good for a pre/post match catch-up when we play them. Every club has low lives, doesn't mean every fan of theirs is one.

    Apart from Palarse, they all fall into the w*nker category.

    Yes, Bowyer played for Birmingham for a while. I recall it being said that was his only Wembley appearance as a player. Bowyer is what is known as a front foot manager. We do try to win every game which is refreshing as it seems to by quite rare - even looking at past managers we have had.

    On the supporters coach going home after the pre play off Sasa Ilic game, as we turned onto a nearby dual carriageway a Blues fan on the central reservation turned his back on the coach, bent forward, and showed us his arse.
    Brilliant piece of improvised Performance Art, I thought.

    Yes we're still blighted by the idiot owner.  90 minutes of "We want roland out, we want roland out...etc"  from the Jimmy Seed will be most welcome.  Chuck whatever you like on the pitch (not at the players tho eh?).  Make up huge banners decrying the delusional old failure and write all manner of lurid accusations as to R Duchatelet's conduct, habits, body-odour, proclivities and halitosis all over the visitors' bogs for successive visiting fans to enjoy.  All grist to the mill.

    I'm genuinely happy for Bowyer and glad to hear he's found himself so to speak, if the team has his work ethic you wont go far wrong. I haven't seen you play this season but it sounds encouraging and momentum usually helps with the first few months of the season. I just can't see Blues winning as you will attack and we will just try and soak it up instead of having a go, if Blues don't start properly then you could be 2 nil up in the first 10 minutes.

    The valley is one of my favorite grounds by the way, proper football ground surrounded by houses ect, I've lived in London for many years so have popped along on occasion, like I say good to see you back  :)

    Trying to win every game seems to be borne out by results - last home defeat was September 2018, and only 2 losses on the road during 2019.

    I spent a drunken hour with bowyer in Portugal(before he managed us) on a golf trip  and when I described the prick of an owner we had he immediately mentioned Carson Yeung and said what a crank he was .
    Think he said he turned up to the training ground by helicopter once and they all had to line up  in the positions they’d have on the pitch for him ( I was hammered so may have got this mixed up ) 

    anyway Stern John in the last last minute play off semi will never be forgotten by this Millwall hater , so I forgive the blues wrongdoings for that great great moment in football ....

    we’re due a loss , so you’ve got a chance 
    I’d take a point right here and now
