"Doing a Leicester"

Remember how we used to use Leicester as a benchmark for clubs of our size? How we aspired to be just like them?
F*ck me - careful what you wish for!

Still, they look like they're finally bouncing back now, so maybe it's not completely terminal down at The Valley, like we all seem to think it might be?

(PS. Hear that? That's the sound straws hitting the floor as I clutch for them but miss!)

    I'm with Offit

IF we go down - that's if - we won't be the first or the last.

    And we will be back

We have emulated Leicester quite well so far.....
  • I would suggest that the current squad are not capable of bouncing back regardless of division, unless some surgery is carried out I don't see the slide ceasing.

Leicester went down because they sold their best players and didn't get adequate replacements. The similarity is frightening!

What's frustrating with this squad is many of them will do well at another club.

we sold every one.... we didnt leave any quality.....

these players confidence is at an all time low..... not one of these players is glad they are at charlton... not one of these players knows our story, becasue they only know our most recent chapter...

the club is now flatlining on the operating table..... we need a short sharp shock to wake us up and it definately involves someone new at the helm......

Many of these players know it's not working out for them at Charlton, and I bet they already know several of them are going to be moved out next month - and others want to go anyway.

Which is another reason why the mentality of the team is so weak.

Irrespective of who the manager is, I believe we're going to see major movement in January. It's more or less, the only throw of the dice available.
  • Leeds directors seem to have the nous that our board lack- they Sacked GM after losing only six games and they are in a respectful 9th place not fighting for survival at the bottom asit was stated @We wanted to give the new manager the Maximum number of games in which to turn it around@
  • You seem to have mistaken "nous" for "cash", Stubby.

Have no idea what will happen in the window, but if there are going to be mass moves, it will have to be started by players going out and I am not sure those that came in last season are attractive to anyone that will be able to afford their wages.
