Probably known best as Adrian Mole's dad and Kevin's dad, in Harry Enfield's shows - though he did much, much more than that - the popular British character actor has died aged 81. RIP

It's ironic that the phrase I always associate with him is "Life. Don't talk to me about life." which is not really appropriate as a tribute in an RIP thread really. Might have to dig out the Hitchhikers DVD this evening.
