There is something quite sexy about the velociraptor.

They found an old fossil in Belgium, got some DNA, grew it, put some scary teeth  in it, and now it owns a football club in SE London. Only thing is its brain is the size of pea.

    Rolandosauras.

Non sociable species with omnivorus Jeremy Kyle set of knashers. Hasn't been seen or heard from for a long time.

Usually behaves in an erratic way during summer and winter peak seasons.

    No one really understands it.

Nowt sexy about a glorified Ostrich the size of a chicken. This is the bad boy that raptors are based on... 10 feet long, 5 feet tall and heavier than a man

On a par with grown men discussing fighting with other grown men at football...  :*
  • The Duchateletsaurus .

This little known dinosaur was thought to have been  extremely short sighted &, as a result, had a tendency to shat itself in the foot.

It was also dubbed "The Dancing Dinosaur" but allegedly, its weird movements were due to trying to wipe clean said faeces laden feet on the surrounding vegetation.

Indeed, there is scant information about this creature & experts believe that its lack of communication skills point to difficulty in attracting a mate .....

...and, as such, sadly resulted in premature extinction.

    RIP Duchateletsaurus.

Stegosaurus - Very good Infinite monkey tree (R4 BBC Sounds etc) on Dinosaurs in the summer, with a great fact that a T Rex is nearer to an Ipad in time than it is to Stegosaurs, they had been gone for 90 million years before T Rex developed!!

Megatherium. A sloth the size of an elephant. Literally slapped around anything that tried to eat it.
One of the few they've got roughly right at the "Victorian Jurassic Park" in Crystal Palace Park.  If you've not been, make the effort, especially if you've got kids or visitors from out of town.

As I kid, I was mad keen on dinosaurs.  As an adult, I suppose I still am.

My favourites have always been triceratops and stegosaurus (the one with two brains, which is one more than most of us and two more than Roland).

I also had a soft spot for archaeopteryx because who wouldn't like a feathered dinosaur?  Now, of course, it's generally accepted a lot more, including velociraptor, had feathers.
