Perhaps Burnley might wish to remember that they once had a Chairman who was instrumental in putting another football team out of business. Look up Bob Lord.

Very interesting. I just googled him - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Lord_(football_chairman) - and found him to be a very interesting chap...

An egotistical man that enjoyed hanging around with politicians, who was convinced his views were correct contrary to everyone else, invested heavily in youth and training facilities, hated anyone who dared speak against him and - ultimately - ruined a club over a debt.
You just looked up RD, didn't you?

Easy for me to say as I do not live near the club now and had to give up my long established season ticket a few years ago, but why concentrate on throwing things on the pitch, the biggest problem is sitting in the lower West stand. How difficult would it be to increase the demonstration on Saturday on the directors box. I know RD is not there, but surely the next targets are KM, RM and know everything, know nothing, bully boy, roly poly Tony, although I do not know if he sits in the directors box. What can they do if a couple of hundred fans invaded the box, I am sure her body guards could not fight them all off. They will probably try to ban all that do this, but if you are not going next season, or until they leave, what does it matter?

Burnley fans are no more to blame for their chairman from 35 years back than we are for the turdmeister we have in charge now...
No they are not - but they should appreciate the need for solidarity with other fans in their hour of need.

She won't be there v Burnley, I'm subtly confident of that.

& Tony Ballbag would hide in a pair of pants somewhere.

No one is going to give a monkeys ass face if Burnley thrash us.
The game may have disruptive sequences and hopefully an intimidating atmosphere to make the job harder for them...but all they will really need is an early goal and its case closed.

Burnley will never have a better time to play Charlton. It simply isn't possible. The club is more of a mess them a junkyard full of horse manure.

They can f*ck off and stop moaning.

I think as a gesture to Burnley our players should offer to not defend corners to make up for any disruption caused.

I don't understand the issue at all. Burnley will beat us. If it gets abandoned they'll surely be awarded a win. With Boro & Brighton playing each other Burnley will get automatic promotion. The title will probably go to goal difference but promotion is their target.

I think Durham doesn't think we have it in us to get it abandoned...

Interesting - I wonder if the football world, which has been hugely supportive so far, will take a dim view of us seriously disrupting the excitement of the final day of the season ?

They will only be bothered if we win. That won't happen so no need to worry.

Could always not delay it until 89th minute and delay the finish for 20 mins or so, just to play that last minute or two. That would get plenty of attention.

Indeed, as long as that does not involve screwing up their own club. A lot of people on this, and other threads seem to be incapable of seeing the situation from a Burnley (and indeed a wider footballing world) perspective, and yet insist that Burnley should see it from ours? Remember my other team is Luton, never really a hated team - a plastic pitch and an away fan ban later they became one of the most loathed clubs in the country, and it wasn't even their supporters to blame. A legacy they still carry to this day, a quarter of a century later. Look at the fans of other clubs who insist that our supporters forced Curbs out because we had the audacity to want to feature in a cup semi final? The fact it isn't true doesn't put some of them off telling us it's our own fault we are where we are.

We WILL lose the sympathy and goodwill of the media and the wider footballing world if we are seen to stymie Burnley's promotion attempts, that does, and will count for a hell of a lot in the battles to come.

Had a text yesterday during the game, saying Durham was slagging us off on his show on TalkSport.
  • He's a professional WUM.
He targets a team or player each show with a ridiculous and childish comment.
Then then fans of said team or player phone in to argue.
    Cheap radio!

Him and Darren Gough, not one braincell between them and the main reason why I rarely listen to Talksport anymore.

Wow he has really lost the plot here

“If Bergkamp was so good, why didn’t #AFC win the Champions League or back-to-back titles?”🤔

“Never scored more than 20 goals in a Premier League season... he was there for 10 years!.”❌

@talkSPORTDrive fires back at Martin Keown in style on the Bergkamp debate🔥 https://t.co/1BV04HpwV1

Durham is an egotistical Peterborough supporting idiot who comes out with such drivel. I often have to turn it off when he decides to go on one, similar to Jim White and Jason Cundy.

Beat one on TalkSport is Alan Brazil

He’s massively anti Arsenal (which I like) and I think that’s playing a part here.  Also, he tends to pick stuff that he can somehow put some sort of argument too (however weak), and just keep going.  Plus, he has a platform.  I was annoyed when he had a pop at the club when we had to postpone the Barnsley game in 2013.  He, like the rest of us didn’t know how broke we were and couldn’t replace the drainage system.  Yes, the game got postponed on the day very late, but he went off on one without knowing the facts

Stopped listening to his show a few years ago as every show was about the top 5 or 6 clubs in the premiership... No one else ever got a mention.
