What a miracle, I think I'm going to have to cancel my holiday and subsequent hotel booking in belgium and attend the game tomorrow

  • I read the news today, oh boy
About a nasty man with yellow teeth
He lost his mind so long ago
    He made so many cry,
    He told so many lies.

He blew his money on a club
He didn't care or know the reason why,
A crowd of Addicks fought so hard
    They'd seen his like before
Nobody was really sure if he was mad or something more.

I heard the news today, oh boy
The nasty belgian had just sold the club
The crowd of Addicks cheered Hooray!
And I just had to look
The news is oh so good
    We've got our Charlton back,
    We've got our Charlton back,
    We've got our Charlton back,
    We've got our Charlton back,
    We've got our Charlton back,

...if the Beatles can go batshit and wander off on some tangent, I'm damn sure we can
  • Hopefully the crooked old twunt ain't gonna trouser anything like the number peddled around by the tabloids this week.
Good as it is that he's history, it would leave a bad bad taste to know that he'd not had to take such a haircut on his crackpot bungling.
God I hate that old bastard, may he rot forever in agony and ignominy.
  • Oh my god, of all the days to be out on a shoot in the wilds of Lancashire and have no service! Only just seen the news, absolutely buzzing. We’ve got our Charlton back...

  • What lovely news. I suppose we’ll know everything we need to know once the January transfer window opens. I wouldn’t expect huge expenditure but if ESI mean business then you would expect two or three very decent Championship signings.

FFS, don't get Anna wound up today...
  • Got a stinking cold and was toying with swerving tomorrow.
Not now though - bubonic plague wouldn't keep me away.
We got our Charlton back and the future is ours*

Just woken up in chilly California to this. Ecstatic.

Got to give it to Lee Bowyer. This group has been around for years but hadn't made a move for us. But, I'm convinced they've been able to see the potential of Charlton Athletic by what Lee Bowyer AND THE FANS have achieved over the past few years. The passion of the fans with CARD and all that but the crowning moment has been last season and 40,000 at Wembley, and this season with our fantastic start (now blighted by injuries). They can see the potential in the club, the fans and Lee Bowyer.

This is exciting stuff. Trying to keep my feet on the ground. With Bowyer, Jacko and Gallen at the helm. What a base! And, the statement mentions the fans, the history of the club and that the new owners are custodians. I know there's often PR bullshit but this just feels right.

    In Bowyer we trust.

    Ecstatic.

Just got a ticketing email from the club, surely no co-incidence
  • It's crazy, seems to have taken forever. It must be almost 2 years to the day our form nosedived under Robinson due to the potential takeover, but it's worked out for the best because now we've got Lee Bowyer and the Sheikh, we're going to be dynamite!
  • Reckon we’ve got the budget to finally get that Jeremy Goss signing over the line

  • My Valley Gold number was pulled out of the hat to do Crossbar Challenge tomorrow. I nominated my 18 year old son to do it, and we went to Sparrows Lane at lunchtime to get some tips from the under 18s. When we arrived Lee and Keith Peacock started chatting to my son and Lee offered to provide him some training - I think its a first for Crossbar Challengers. He spent about half an hour patiently coaching him, which when you think about the hectic schedule he has, and the weighty news announcement this morning, that is quite special. Lee couldn't be more relaxed, As you probably know, we have one very special gaffer there.

Steve Avery also spent a lot of time chatting to him and encouraging.

What a day, what a club
Good luck for Saturday, great to hear its already been a memorable experience.

They're probably eyeing him up for a spot on the bench! Best of luck to both of you tomorrow.

Fantastic news, albeit EFL approval of course. Lets get behind the lads tomorrow against Wednesday and get the 3 points to top it all off.  B)

RM must be aware of the stick he gets from some poeple,so I dont think he would make this statement and invite further ridicule if it had no substance.
People in any sort of “know” are very very few. RM is one who most certainly is, and that is why I give it credence.

I can now confess that RM is my source for saying it is going to happen and will be claiming the official title of ‘I told you so most in the know person on Charlton Life’ award when the sale goes through. Sorry James!
    Ahem.
  • CARD, Belgium 20, WAR et al must be delighted that so much of the news coverage gives so much space to all the protests and their ingenuity.
All our hard work got its just reward.  Really pleasing to see that acknowledged across the media.
    Well done us.
