Just wondered how long this will take to come through, i’m guessing as we’re owned by someone called ‘His Excellency’ it should be good to go, and all wrapped up by the end of the week?

The only hold up might be just how many fingers Nimer and the other directors have in so many pies.

Declaring all their directorships, agent roles etc etc and those then being checked will take time but it's not as if the potential owners can't afford to pay someone competent to do that.

The EFL on the other hand.....

My prediction: it will be announced on Thursday. Check the date if you're wondering why.
  • Cheers Henry, I woke up in a cold sweat ,and this was the first thing that came to mind, thinking this was all a dream!
  • I do wonder if the club will announce it on the 5th even if they hear back tomorrow just for further brownie points

Wouldn’t surprise me, they’ve already shown they do their research with East Street

I don’t know why I’m panicking, come to think of it, my son bought some chips at the ground yesterday, must have been at least over 30 in the box, #letthegoodtimesroll
    Of course it’s happening!
  • This excitment all getting too much for me, already the double whammy of grandchild due on Election Day and now this!!!!

Think it will be this week. Can’t see them announcing the deal on Friday if a) it wasn’t close and b) they were not extremely confident of EFL approval.

If it all happens in the same day please can they call the baby Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan?

    Even if it's a girl.

Do we know when the EFL actually started the process? It may have been going on for a few days already, and the statement was released because it is coming to an end, and everything checks out, maybe

  • Nothing is straightforward with these tossers, they have to justify the port and lemon expenses so dont be surprised if this is strung out.

There was someone on here who has a contact at the EFL, can't remember who now. Shouldn't be long and we'll be counting sleeps until the transfer window opens.

Think that was Addickted's mate but seem to recall he had subsequently moved on.

Not long now. I regularly work in Preston and have been lucky enough to to find myself a little contact up there. I'm told it should be no later that 1st February.
  • The next two weeks may be crucial ( o' come on someone had to say it  )
  • If this if this one doesn’t get over the line, we’re never going to be taken over!

Why do I feel as if this could be another Osei Sankofa situation?

We are Charlton. The only Premiership club to appeal a booking and get that ban increased.

We've been critical of the EFL fit and proper person process so who better than Charlton for them to lodge their first ever refusal?

    You read it here first.

Still look on the bright side.

Look at all that money Roland got as we all started spending again yesterday.

Others in the past have failed the test.

This Clearance will top Ronnie O'Sullivan's 147 in 5 minutes 20 seconds.
    Will take longer though.

On the other hand don't you think the EFL will be glad to see the back of old yellow tooth
  • The process apparently started a couple of weeks ago so Louis Mendez understands on Charlton Live

If the EFL don't sanction this Roland will demand that they buy us.

As Len and Scoham discuss, after Bolton and Bury the EFL could have changed their stance and we’ll be the recipients of this. They had better not.

That comment from the Doncaster guy:

"They have made it so difficult now that unless you have a bag full of cash you are going to get turned down."

    We're all good then.
