EFL Clearance?

I've got a feeling that the deal was done a while ago and the EFL checks are nearly complete, and that is why a statement was released on Friday saying ES had "purchased" the Club.9

I also don't think the new Chairman would've been been there if the EFL process had only just started. I think they were being sensible in saying pending EFL approvable, because they are just waiting official confirmation as opposed to waiting for the full process to take place.
Finger crossed5 -
I'm sure I read on the EFL site regarding the fit & proper test that once someone applies to be a relevant person the football league will notify the club within 5 days of how long the process will take.
Word is they approached the EFL a couple of weeks ago so should be aware of when or if this will be tied up.0 -

2.3 b):
within 5 Normal Working Days of receipt thereof The League shall advise the Club of the time-frame within which The League, acting reasonably, expects to be able to finalise its enquiries in respect of that person;

To be honest, I would have thought that the nature of Roland would help speed up the process as much as anything else. I would have thought that the EFL would be as keen to get rid of him as anyone else.

ESI hoping that the interviews for the EFL's owners’ and directors’ test can be completed by the end of this week.

The sign-off of all EFL documentation is undertaken in series and not in parallel. This means that they complete the process on one, before starting on the next, instead of trying to do lots at the same time.
The good news is that the whole process shouldn't take long at all, given the new Chairman's experience with EFL clubs in the past.
The bad news is that it's in the queue behind the Aussies. So we'll have to wait for their paperwork to be completed first.15 -

Not that it means anything as this is what we're waiting for EFL to sanction0 -

The EFL look at East Street Investments Portfolio and the kudos that all involved in this takeover have in the business world.
They look at Roland Duchâtelet's 6 year tenure at Cafc and his eccentric tyrannical shit pokery crass douchebag bellendesque weasel ways of running a football club.
A tough decision for the EFL.1 -

I have no problems with fit and proper persons checks, provided the checks are fit and proper.
We have waited long enough and a bit longer is something we can handle.1 -
If the EFL take too long or prove difficult we can argue that they are not fit and proper to do the F&P test based on their questionable impartiality considering that have previously been linked to buying us!!0
-
If Roly got through efl clearance then surely anyone can.
He had other teams which were surely a conflict or risk.
Fingers crossed

We are Charlton. The only Premiership club to appeal a booking and get that ban increased.
We've been critical of the EFL fit and proper person protest so who better than Charlton for them to lodge their first ever refusal?
You read it here first.

At Chester, the prospective new owner had been involved in major VAT fraud.
Rangers, because of serious HMRC and VAT issues.
The EFL said the Doncaster takeover was refused because the prospective purchaser didn't have a viable business plan and added:
"In any club takeover it is a requirement for the prospective purchaser to provide a business plan and to demonstrate that the funding is in place to deliver on that plan," they said."
We've got to trust that the directors of East Street Investments have full funding and no record of business irregularities.
And that there is no conflict of interest in football matters.
Can't see anything else that would get in the way.

I would think that the EFL want to see the end of Roland's tenure, as much as we do2

If Matt Southall is an active football agent, isn't that a conflict of interest?0
