Not saying he's a bad player but we could do with pace up front, and it doesn't look like Parkinson will be giving Dickson or McLeod a run.

Well at least he's got experience. He might just be the right age for us now too.

seconded... if we have brought Burton in he can play the physical, hold-up role... we need someone to get in behind to play alongside him and it doesn't look like Parky wants it to be McLeod or Dickson
  • doubt he would wana come down T'London....

"Dean brings that bit of fight to the squad, something we've been lacking" said Parkinson. "Experience counts for a lot in the position we're in. Dean is looking for a new challenge and we're hoping this move could be of benefit to both parties" he added. Windass has signed on an initial one month loan.

In other Charlton news, Chris Dickson, who has scored 85 goals in 84 reserve games since signing from Dulwich Hamlet in 1986, has joined Southampton on a free transfer.

I'd play Dickson AND Windass in the same team and let them kill each other as the ball drops in the penalty area - it would be nice to see hungry centre forwards... and they don't get much hungrier than Windass, judging by his ass .... ;-)

Do you realise that Parky is only one year older than Windass?

Perhaps we could make further savings on the wage bill by coaxing him out of retirement and making him player-manager?
  • He may be old and slow but his attitude is fantastic!
some of our lot should look and learn.

Windass scored 11 goals in 29 games last year in this league - I'd take it if he could score 8 goals for us between now and the end of the season!

That reminds me of the wonderful story about Peter Mandelson during his first election campaign in Hartlepool. Went in to a chippie, pointed at the mushy peas and said, ''I'll have some of that avocado dip, please'.

So all we'd have to do is get Windass some pots of avocado dip from Waitrose and tell him they're mushy peas. Sorted, eh?

The most northern of all the norvern monkeys.......

Absolutely no way he would move down here.

He'll be off to Hartlepool - you heard it here first!.
