@PragueAddick with out knowing what the hold up is, if there is actually one, to whom are you going to enquire?

ESI seem very open in getting their point of view through the local press.  Roland isn't going to start having meaningful dialogue now and unless it's been regect, in which case we would know, the efl will just say it's being processed along normal time scales. 

I admire your sense that something must be done or seen to be done but we have no leverage to make anyone tell us anything they won't or can't tell us.

Yes, it's feasible - and seems to be increasingly likely - that the EFL will turn round and reject the bid.  They have a binary decision: all the time that "yes" isn't given as an answer, then "no" remains a possible outcome.  And, in that scenario, we had better be very sure against whom we vent anger: and it's shouldn't be the EFL.  

If it doesn't go through, then the EFL will have specific, detailed and water tight answers as to why not.  And, in those circumstances, we should be very pleased it doesn't go through: if the EFL find problems, it's far better for them to come to light now and for Charlton to be prevented from suffering the consequences, than for them to be hidden until it's too late.  The EFL in those circumstances will be the good guys, as bitter a pill as that would be to swallow.  

The ire and retribution should be aimed at the man who bought the wrong club and then spent years trying to sell it to the wrong owners.  

I hope it goes through.  And I hope it goes through because the EFL are thoroughly satisfied they have done a complete and rigorous job in weeding out - and securing mitigation for - any issues. And if it doesn't, I won't be blaming the EFL for preventing us being put in a mess; I will be blaming the Belgian genius who brought it on. 

Do we know for a fact the EFL haven't signed off on this (as they're unlikely to make any statements), maybe the delay is in the finer details of how payment between the two parties is to be made.

I find it very odd, though, that ESI would take such a high profile at this time if they knew they had failed thus far to answer important/difficult questions to the EFL's satisfaction. If they do this to put pressure on the EFL with such questions outstanding, it seems very unwise. If they do it because they think the outstanding issues the EFL have asked to clear up are trivial, and want to get on with maximising the opportunity of the window, then I think it is far more understandable.

CAST and CARD reps (I was one of them) had face to face discussions with the EFL which led to a better mutual perception of the other side's positions. We understood that (hard as it can be to accept) the EFL have clubs to deal with that were put in more existential danger than RD has done. I would think that if we approach them on that basis, we could suggest that it is in their overall interest to at least put out a statement clarifying where the process is, a statement which helps fans understand that the EFL process is seeking to ensure long term protection of the club, as @Chizz alludes to. 

The EFL isn’t going to say anything to us on the record at this stage.
