I think I can assist us in getting the whole event including a suite afterwards at a very good price, although the only way we'll do that is my making the game Charity based & I mean selling the charity well, players would have to all raise a certain amount so we can pitch it as donating £xxxx fro charity. If we had 30 players (15 each side) all sponsoring around £30-£35 you are looking at around a £1,000 which is not bad. Then as badger said, a bit of of music after free of charge by someone like myself with raffles etc thrown in to boost the charity figure. Seems reasonable enough ?0

Looks like we have the scope to do this, player wise that is! SOunds like it could be a great larf, and for a good charity!0
-

-
would love have a to run out on the hallowed turf before the old legs give up.0

that's 27 so far, anyone else interested please put your name forward, there will be no upper limit on the amount and we can rotate things or play two halves of an hour or something.
Please bear in mind, its likely to be an afternoon during the week, so would require a day off work, sometime in May-June. If Weegie is playing then we want another female as well.0 -

I'll be there but not on the pitch much as I'd love to. Can I be Chairman and sack the manager at half time. Henry jr can be mascot.
Well done Ketman. 50% Demelza and 50% Valley Flags is my suggestion but open to ideas, suggestions, abuse.0 -
If there is more than one team will it be organised along the lines of clique 1 vs clique 2....? Sorry, I think I'm turning into Oracle0

surely we'll do numbers. two captains that have to turn around and shout out numbers that have been allocated to everyone else.0 -

bit unfair on Len0 -
The standard would be well beyond me as I only played schools football, but would be happy to help lend a hand on organising side0
-
i would definately be up for playing!!!
i could help with a bit of organisiation as well. Ive done a bit of club promotion over the last few years so ive got a bit of experience with this kind of thing.0 -
I should be able to get a ref if nobody else want to do. I'm sure Tim would be up for (AFKA knows who I mean)0
-
Arfur's a ref as well0
-
With all these offers of help, can i suggest that either AFKA or Henry select a small (3-5?) group of people to help organise this. It would be not only a great event but another good chance for other "lifers" to meet and put faces to opinions.
I'm happy to help if required0 -
I think Demelza as a Charity is a good one as I now Charlton do a lot of charity work for them already so would be a good selling point for us to club.0

Yes ill retract my offer of help as everything is covered and ill stick to next months piss up.0

Yep. It might be worth getting two ref's and that way they can play half and ref half each or something similar.0 -
I'd be interested and could possibly sort kit out if colours are not vital, own my own sports manufacturing business, making kits for local junior football clubs rugby clubs schools etc.0
-
I'd be interested...but depends on work/time and other commitments. i get back to the UK three/four times a year and if things work out I could combine it with something else.0
-
put me in,am a very good lino!0

i'll send an email round to a handful this afternoon and we'll try and get some organisation in place. Don't know what others feel, but a late friday afternoon game, with a do afterwards (DJ, raffle etc) could work as a great Charlton Life end of season do (with anyone else welcome of course0 -
Would definitely be up for this as long as I haven't got exams the day we play!0
-
My Uncle does this every year on May Day. Normally gives me a run out , then i come off at half time and invite myself for a free tour of The Valley.
I think you would be able to get more than one match in.
It's actually a big pitch to play on, believe me just 1 half will knacker you out.
Will anyone be in the NU giving it the 'Red Army'? lol0 -
Would love to be a part of it, albeit very briefly given my age, lack of fitness and lack of talent!! Also if 2-3 more women would join in, and you boys would promise to pass to us at least once or twice??
Work commitments permitting too, etc.
I could possibly rope Mr Weegie in, though his preference again would probably be goalie...
Very supportive of the charity/ sponsorship approach. Could we also sell spectator tickets for the post match event for charity?0
