You either have the memory of memory man or you've looked. I'm sure that it's the former.

The point being how well would we have done had they been playing all season albeit with the need to rest J Jo from time to time.
  • Jonjo and someone else. I think it may have been Holland tho i'm not sure without looking

  • didn't look, just got lucky !

Would be a good CM if Racon could just get back from injury quickly!

It really is quite unbelievable that Pards then decided to wrap Jonjo up in cotton wool for so long.

Silly me, of course we haven't won a game with Semedo in midfield all season. [FACT]

But he did play at right back and we did keep a clean sheet - not something we've done too many times this season.

Racon played as did Shelvey I think. Shelvey looked a bit lost at times and we all said it was all a bit too much too early for him.

Racon played well though. As he has done in every game he's got in this season

Does no-one else think that we were outplayed against Swansea though? Especially in the middle of the park? The difference in that game compared to most others is that we took our chances!

I think that's true but Swansea have outplayed a lot of teams this season but lack a cutting edge, hence the fact that up until Saturday they had drawn 8 on the bounce. Would still have loved Martinez to have been our Manager.

Sounds familar although I'd use the word dominated rather than outplayed!

We played Racon & Shelvey as centre-mids in a 4-4-2 formation, but we were undermanned in that area.

Swansea played 4-5-1 with 3 centre-mids and dominated the midfield for much of the game, but didn't create much in the way of clearcut openings.

We scored from 2 set pieces, and their centre back lost his rag getting booked twice in 3 mins and red carded with about 20 mins to go.

He pretty much did the same with Racon, never had a bad game for us but rarely played last season. This season we're ready to use him, and he's injured.

Yeah we didn't play well, scored from two set pieces. It was just that Swansea couldn't score themselves.

I seem to remember we played Shelvey and the midfield looked a bit fragile. We put on Holland for Shelvey in the 2nd half which really steadied the boat without Holland seemingly doing that much. It shows you how much happens off the ball.

You are dead right there, Shrew.

Naturally, a lot of spectators just follow the ball (officials too, lol) but anyone who's played the game competitively knows how vital the off the ball stuff can be -, movement, team shape, tracking, self-discipline and communication with team mates, etc.

It's usuallywhen that breaks down that goals get conceded and chances are just not created.
