Good evening as usual despite the young girls dance class overrunning meaning we couldn't get upstairs until after we were meant to have started.
Chuks isn't the most natural raconteur but he did fine, Chris had a few good stories and spoke well as you'd expect.
Both fit and ready to play.
Players got a message on the group chat they have on Saturday night saying the owner wanted to take them all to dinner and to be at the 02 at 7.00pm Sunday evening.
Tahnoon said a few words and said he'd be coming over to games once a month and wanted to do the dinner with the players each time to which the players thought "great".
The players don't know anything more than we do about the takeover and Solly heard about it on twitter.
Lots about injuries, coaching, managers, games, play off final, 2012 v 2019 team that no one would be interested in.

Chuks did however confirm that the intensity and speed of play in both training and at games is a big jump to what he has been used to over the last 3-4 years. He’s admitted his body has struggled with the jump but is getting there and feels ready and is fit to feature. Some more things that I remember from last night is that he went to speak to Bows a few weeks back. Bow said that Matthews is currently playing well and that the times he’s been left out the squad, it’s because he wants another attacking option on the bench. Solly has been fit for a while and feeling really good. He said that new physio Danny Murphy has come in and since he’s managed to do things in the gym and in training that he hasn’t been able to do for about 7-8 years. Danny Murphy was Gareth Bale’s personal physio at Real Madrid but left as it looked as though he’d be going to China. He said he’s the best physio that he’s ever known and it’s allowed Sols to get fit and actually believes his knee is responding and feeling better than it has done for years.
The initial injury started when he was 17, walking back to the building after training, rolling the ball under his foot and his knee locked and torn his cartilage. He needed an operation to reattach the cartilage but the same thing happened again not too long after. He’s since had two further operations which has meant they trimmed his cartilage down, so he has known for much of his career he would be different to everyone else. He can’t train like everyone else and it was always about making sure he was ready for the game on a Saturday.32 -
Of the new players who recently joined...
Sols trained with Smith last Saturday morning. Said he’s very quiet but is a good player, very good on the ball, lots of energy.
Davis was described as tenacious, experienced and will be a very good addition to the team.
Sols said McGeady, albeit being 33, is still so quick and is probably the best finisher with either foot he has seen. Can play at 10 and out wide and brings us something different to the team. Thinks he’ll do well for us.31 -
Chuks said not speaking French or Flemish made playing in Belguim difficult but it was an experience. Said football was more tactical than in England.
Chuks prefers to play as a second striker.
Never been told that his bulk/muscle is the problem. He's been that size since he was a teenager (and he's a unit. as tall as me but slightly more in trim)
Never played under Robinson at MK Dons as he was bought by him but was then injured during which KR was sacked.
Solly said that KR was very detailed on shape and details on the opposition and told them all the other sides strengths and weaknesses.
CS said we'd have gone up under KR is we'd had Lyle, felt we underachieved with the squad we had.18 -
CS was asked about Fraeye telling players to "spread out". Both CS and CA laughed and CS said he'd never been told that and that you couldn't be in football if that was all you had to say.
CS told a story about one of Jose Riga's coaches whose name he couldn't remember but was maybe another Jose who started running a coaching session in French as he couldn't speak English. Jacko said something along the lines of "What the F*** is going on?" and Riga had to take over the session.
CS said he loved working with Luzon as Guy loved football and CS throughly enjoyed working with him. He said Luzon managed Tony Watt well.
Said Luzon was fixated with one shape with very strict rules on how to play 442 with players being 8 yards apart. CS said it worked as well for a while but when it didn't Luzon wouldn't change.
Said under Luzon we'd have crazy sessions such as 15 v the starting 10 wuth no keeper. The starting 10 had to keep their shape and the 15 couldn't score against them.23 -
West Ham - CS was on holiday after 2012 promotion when saw rumours in the papers.
Was fit and very happy. Just finished his first full season, was POTY and in Championship which he felt was the right level for him at the time. Had no interest in whether it was true or not.16 -
On "Bows" (they both called him this not boss or gaffer)
Said we had an unbelievable team last year and should have got promoted.
His strengths are that he's straight to the point and honest
Not afraid to change shape or tactics and reacts to game.
He is bold and trusts himself. He sees things in the game that others might not.
Said last season in one game (Shrewsbury maybe but he wasn't sure) they had an inverted winger who was giving Naby a hard time on our left. We were playing a back three of Solly, Pearce, Sarr. At half time Bows switched Solly and Sarr, to which both thought "what's going on?" but it worked and we won the game 2- 117 -
On injuries the squad does a lot of prep
9.30 to 9.45 they are monitored by physios then 30 mins in the gym to activate so they are well warmed out.
They then train and throughout they are wearing trackers and all the info is monitored live on a lap top so everything is managed.
CS said that is just been a lot of "Freak" injuries that you can't manage or solve.
He mentioned Danny Murphy as Sage has said.

Play-off final.
Realised when sent off that he was likely to miss the Wembley game as would be out for 4 games so accepted that about 30 minutes after the sending off.
Penalty. Has always been willing to take one as would rather miss that regret not taking one when we've lost.
Took his pen and scored. Had decided which way he was going to go about six months before.
Counts that and a pen in a Checkatrace trophy as one of his five goals.
Was sitting on bench talking to JFC about the game when he saw the ball roll into our net. JFC didn't even see it. Watched it again on big screen and just hoped so much we'd win as felt for Philips. Said Dillion is a very strong character but didn't want him blamed for defeat like this.
CS is still good friends with many of the 2012 team. Said they had a bit of everything and whatever why the other team wanted to do we could match them and beat them. Very close knit team.
Asked who would win in a game 2019 v 2019 and he said it would be close but 2012.
can't remember anything else both others have already chipped in.
About 70 people there which is good given the short notice. Thanks for coming, you make it worthwhile.

Solly must have learned a lot having been under such a massive range of coaches, as there has been no set Charlton "style" of manager during the Roland years in terms of their tactics3 -

For him, Gillingham is like Millwall, if not worse. He grew up in Rochester but really hates them. He won’t sign for them if we were to not renew his contract. There would also be far more clubs who would take Sols, that I’m certain of.killerandflash said:
