Good way to end a Tuesday. Had us to win 1-0 at 14/1.
By contrast I lost quite a few quid, but who cares.

Thought we'd win it.  Great result.  We'll move up the table herein.  Beating middlesbrough will be a big deal and QPR.   Wigan too.

    Very happy tonight.

All about staying up and the project starts in earnest in May- August.   This league is nuts and there for the taking for anyone who can put a run together and not bottle it like Leeds.

Much more interesting that the top flight bore fest and 3rd division slog in that respect.

Onwards and upwards and bring on 3 points on saturday.

Hope all those up there tonight had a brilliant night.

Taylor is the most important man at Charlton after Bowyer.  Build the next few seasons around them both.

    From the preview thread...

Bit like most grounds at this level and above but our League record at the City Ground is horrendous

Two wins there since 1975, both of which have been 1-0 wins (Cousins in 2014; Youds in 1998)
    That will do for me

    Well played @ross1 and @ForeverAddickted

    wallop.   :)

Bloody hell. The joy of having a full team and options off the bench, your best player scoring and players putting in a shift. Well done Nabster, well done Lyle, well done Tomer and well done everyone. I am bloody exhausted. Let's just hope the boys can keep up this level of effort and ease us clear of the drop zone soon as my poor heart can't take too many more weeks like these.

    SISS.

    Just brilliant.

Sarr and Taylor superb. Hemed put in a shift and Oz looked tricky. Davis also had plenty of Championship experience out there carrying a yellow card.

But MOtM for me, Adam Matthews. Sign him up Matt Southall. Sign him up.

That was why it was so important we held on to Taylor in January!

And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the Charlton we all love. Just when you think we’ll never climb out of the rut, they pull a result like that out of the bag. Massively improved performance, stupendous goal, stalwart defending. Worked their socks off.

Particularly great performances by Matthews, Naby, Ozzie (first half) and Lyle - but they were all heroes.

Roll on Saturday and another three points. Don’t fuck this up!

We needed that. Great result and performance. Taylor was outstanding - keeping him was vital, with him in the team we’ve always got a chance.
Sarr was immense as well. We fully deserved the 3 points.
  • Great result and a great performance. First away win in the league since end of Aug?
Naby was everywhere. MOM for me.
Taylor excellent and shows again how much stronger he makes us.
Oztumer looked a real threat for his hour
We could get ourselves almost safe by the end of Feb if we play like that and also get a bit of luck few if any injuries

  • Bloody easy when you analysis it in all honesty!!

Forest were meh!!... Absolutely no different to the side that visited the Valley - Say it all the time but teams can play all the pretty passes they like but if they're not going to do anything with it then they wont score, and that was Forest right down to a tee tonight; their best effort on goal was the Sarr effort that Phillips expertly had to save - Lolley had Doughty in his pocket to begin with, he then put Sarr in his pocket before deciding he wanted a tougher challenge for some reason!!

Oh well I dont care... SIX POINTS from the relegation zone, that form that Wigan are in which everyone was worried about... thats exactly why you shouldnt be worried... Form is meh!!, form is nothing, points on the board is all that bloody matters

Charlton have won away for the first time since August, we're getting the nucleous of our team back together, nothing to say we ourselves cant return to those winning ways and so climb our way out of this false position (something I've been repeating for months) - As the game grew on, yes we struggled to create anything ourselves (down to the Forest subs more than anything who could simply keep the ball better) - but the experience in the midfield showed once more; Davis tonight showing he's another astute signing by the Gallen / Bowyer dream team

Overall as already said, probably our best performance of the season, we easily matched them in the first half and reckon we'll be a force for any team still to visit the Valley (thats everyone around us bar Huddersfield)

Pretty much faultless in defence, and what a cross.

    Walking in a Naby wonderland!

Taylor's running was incredible. He didn't stop despite having very little to work with in the last 30 mins.

We grafted it out well and won with the game's only real bit of quality.

Forest made too many changes and were awful. We worked hard, tried to play football in the first 65 mins and deserved to win.

Naby Sarr and Lyle Taylor. My two favourite players are the two heroes tonight.

Couldnt believe some of the over reaction on Saturday. We have a stunning young manager who is consistently performing miracles and we need to keep behind him and believe in the special atmosphere he has created at our great club.

    Wow. Very proud addick tonight.

    Naby is inconsistent

How he shanked that cross onto our crossbar for a very near own goal just 3 minutes after he had crossed for Lyle, just shows his inefficiencies.....

    😜
  • Don't mean to bring a downer but .....

Bring on football for a fiver Saturday, Yaay!
  • Against the top 5

    WBA: draw, draw
    Leeds: win
    Fulham: draw, draw
    Brentford: win
    Forest draw, win

    8 games, 0 losses, 14 points
    Against the top eight

    13 games, 3 defeats... 20 points
  • Brilliant.  I thought LT was finished with us and I am so happy that he has shown that he is committing his skill to the cause.
