Jean is a very dear friend who has faced her desperate condition with great bravery & fortitude. 

Our paths first crossed in Bartrams years ago when we asked if could sit with her & the following home game, she was introduced to @GlassHalfFull who we had recently met as he formulated yet another cunning plan to bring Jessie into the Charlton family...and so it began. Serendipity indeed. 

We have shared many great times with Jean since then, mainly in Crossbars for pre match drinks ( where Jean would enjoy her favourite Pinot !) before she took her favourite seat in the West but also at various dinners including POTY and Shirt Sponsors' events as she was a great supporter of the latter. 

Our group also travelled down to Wadhurst around twice a year to sample the delights of local restaurants followed by more grog & nibbles at Fanackapan Towers. Great memories. 

Sadly, in recent seasons, Jean has missed many matches due to ill health and her staunch boycott of the RD stewardship.

This lady was NOT for turning ! 

For 50 years, Jean has followed our team through thick & thin and is the proud owner of many shirts, most signed, to remind her of those times. 

Whilst we are unable to be with her as she celebrates her birthday and her very special anniversary on March 28th, we shall be thinking of her and will raise a glass to a very special lady who deserves far far more from life.
