He only got 11 in 14 for Gillingham (3 sub appearances) - oh well, he obviously can't score, so get rid ......

Dicko is waiting till the summer when hopefully a new man in charge gives him a chance to play for a League One club.
  • We cant keep a player who scores, he may keep us up,

Unless we intend to bring somebody else in, why are we offloading him, even if he has asked for a transfer.

    Our strikers

    1. Burton - decent enough footballer but can't score for toffees (and that's not just for us)
    2. Gray - apart from his penalties, he has scored very few goals
    3. Todorov - serially unfit, can't last for more than twenty minutes
    4. McLeod - never really given a serious chance. Now gone to boost Smallwalls promotion bid
    5. Dickson - scored 11 in 14 for the Gills yet not trusted with a start for us

Have I jumped into a parallel universe or is something seriously wrong somewhere? I could cope with things if Gray and Burton were knocking them in for fun but the opposite is true.

The whole thing is depressing and incomprehensible in equal measure.

We were told to "hush" a few weeks back when suggesting that this isnt right, and those great men who watch training every weeek really know better. That BS we cant even attempt to stay up unless we can score goals----------- we need to win 10/11 games not draw.

It just doesn't make sense to me either if he scored all those goals at the Gills...maybe its more of a personality thing as I have heard he is cocky......
  • Dickson did more in the first 10mins he was on the pitch on saturday than Gray did in the entire game.

I totally agree with this, but to be fair Dickson was being played as part of a two man front line. To be fair to Gray, he was isolated by Parky's mental tactics.

For all we know he may just not be able to cut it in this league, but at least if he'd been given a fair crack we'd know. Whenever he's come on he's looked the best of what we have. It's depressing and baffling in equal measure/

Maybe if Dickson plays we have to give more money to Dulwich?
  • Agree with all the above. And MW get promoted with the help of Mcleod, is he going to want to return to a League 1 side, I think not. As for Dickson his treatment is as baffling to me as it is to everyone else. Agree with Stu of HU16, it beggars belief that he didn't either start or come on at half time, Gray was hopeless, but to be fair he was surrounded by two or three defenders everytime he got the ball, but to continue with 4-5-1 when already 2-0 down, seemed crazy, we didn't look like scoring. Ok we did score, but only with long strike which 9 times out of 10 will end on row Z. Altogether a thoroughly miserable day.

    Obviously Parky knows best.

I mean, the results speak for themselves.

This debate has gone on for months. No one will know why Pardew and now Parky have refused to give him some starts untill they give us a reason. "He's not good enough" wont do. None of the others are good enough, but they still get picked every week.
  • Dickson should now start each game as all our other strikers are not scoring. We have nothing to lose now by playing him. If he plays he will stay and might even score some goals and if/when we do go down he will score over 20 next season in div1.

Anyway what do us fans know the management knows best LOL!

Pretty sure we don't, when we signed him, on their website it said it was £35k, £15k after his league debut, and 5% of any future transfer.

Even if we do it won't be a lot, surely that's not the reason for not playing him? We're still bringing him on as a sub.

I cannot get my head around this - have struggled since we signed him.

What is the point in signing him - they must have known he was cocky. He's a striker - they tend to be cocky and greedy. It's why they are strikers and poachers.

He is naturally - AND STATISTICALLY - the most potent striker we have at any level and he is overlooked.

Parky said before Christmas that he would play an important role in the Christmas period - I believe he managed 14 minutes!

Andy Gray does not deserve to be on the park, Toddy is a cripple, Waggy needs to be 1 of 2 up front or play in the hole.

    We cannot score goals

It beggars belief that he has not got a start.

Not is the squad for the reserve game tonight. Maybe the BEEB are on to something?.

What will that leave us with?. Todorov, Burton & Gray. Dear oh dear.

Don't be so suspicious Clem. I'm sure Parky is making sure he's fit to start on Saturday.....not
  • if we are to jeopardise our position even further by the ego and arrogance of not one but two managers who seem to have problems with him then it's game over. It doesn't matter if he sits on the 6 yard line for 90 minutes acting cocky so long as he scores goals

There have been 2 bids for him today. One from a League 1 club, the other from Gillingham. He'll be gone by end of the week
  • Dicko is in talks as we speak i fear we may not see him again ;-( i am only hoping that they are loan deals not fulltime

if they are full time the club is as foolish as can be as we will have to buy a striker next year who will proberly come from League 2 to fire us out of league 1

If he is sold I will absolutely livid if we do not get a direct replacement ASAP.
I am truly fucked off with driving 150 mile round trips to watch that excuse for management screw this up any more. I am sure there must be someone out there who applied for the job, would not cost the earth and is still available. I couldn't give 2 shits if Dicko has an attitude - at least when he comes on there is a buzz - the crowd get excited, he gees the fans up - how many of our players generate that kind of interest (Shelvey is the only one who springs to mind and he'll be out of here quicker than you can say "We've turned the corner" - there is no fucking corner - we are on a spiral roundabout without corners and we are going down and down and down.)

We need a striker NOW. Someone who will put himself about a bit, rough people up and work hard - but ideally who knows where the net is too

Deon "1 in 29" Burton isn't good enough
Andy Gray isn't good enough (don't give me the bollocks of he needs the service - he is lazy, immobile, slow and not a poacher)
    Toddy - Cripple
Waggy - Great potential - but not what we need right now

It takes a lot to really piss me off but Christ almighty are this club pushing my buttons right now

End of rant - I need some fresh air while my keyboard recovers from the pounding I just gave it

There have to be other strikers being lined up because if not, we have to wonder where are the goals coming from to fire us out of the drop zone?
  • Hope Dickson goes and scores the goals that keeps the Os up so we can play them next season.

No point him sitting on our bench for the rest of the season watching clowns like Burton and Gray failing to trouble the opposition's goal.
