    eastenders had a guy called nigel in it who showed the mitchell brothers hes colllection of palace programs ,with hes look and nerdy ways a millwall fanzine decided to name them so,which looking at the great man seems apt.

    Nigel Nomates went to school at Elsa Road Welling in the early 1970's...being the only Palarse fan within miles in a predominantly Charlton fan school, the nickname Nigel was adopted as no self respecting Addick (nee Valiant) could bring themselves to say Palarse.
