For me, the original Lalo Schifrin theme was the best version. It was a pretty dark sounding theme, but super cool.SuedeAdidas said:

I think as the show got a little more comedic, they wanted to lighten the mood to make it more family friendly.
The 1st season had some very dark moments, & fleeting comedic moments.2 -

Interesting! Aztec Gold was performed by Silsoe who were Rod Argent (ex-Zombies) and Peter Van Hooke (Van Morrison's Drummer). Silsoe made one other record, also a theme, though rather more forgettable: The Two of Us (Nicholas Lyndhurst).SE7toSG3 said:
