[cite]Posted By: Imissthepeanutman[/cite]Personally I am little uncomfortable with the Fans Forum concept.

Fair play to the Board for putting it in place and to all those who will put in hours to support it but it worries me a little.

    Be interested to know Why?

Its just a personal thing. If I have an issue with the club I can take it up directly if I want too. As a shareholder I can attend the AGM. Directors make themselves available to talk to fans and occasionally I get to hear what they say and can ask questions.

I am sure the Forum will make a good job of conveying the majority view of the fans that participate. And that will probably as good as can be expected. But it would be interesting to note how many people that is and to reflect that there will be thousands who dont participate. Its not a dig its just how I feel.

Fair play mate, but in the end that analysis could be applied to one person representing the fans, and in this case we have 8, so I think we will represent a broader spectrum. Fully respect the fact you can get to have a chat with the directors....thats what I used to do. Lets see on balance how we do up until the end of the probabtionery period...its up to all of us to try and make this work.
  • If there are thousands who don't participate then presumably they are happy with the status quo. The fans forum surely can't be expected to represent views that have not been conveyed to it? I understand what you mean, but it is up to the fans to make an effort to get their views represented and not the other way around. It's a bit like not voting in a general election and then complaining that you don't like the government.

Surely the same applied, and possibly more so, when it was the fans director?

Just something I didnt realise thats all.

Totally agree that there should be one though, also, if for whatever reason it doesnt work out (no reason why it shouldnt) I dread to think of the fallout if it got scrapped!

My understanding was that it was a probationary period for the individuals rather than the forum as a whole.

So if we bombard the board with emails we can get rid of Dave/Tel/Sacha ; - )

I agree which is why I think it is important for the FF to keep a high profile, offer access and encourage participation as much as possible not just around the Statement of Intent but on-going.

From what I see they are trying to do this but there will always be some fans who don't see the need or benefit in contacting them.

As I've said before a lot of people don't vote in local elections but that's not a reason to scrap local democracy.

Yes, I think you're right, Henry. The concept of the Fans' Forum is safe (for the foreseeable future anyway), but the players might change. Maybe bring in some loans from the Blackburn Fans' Forum? They have Premier League experience for a start.

I was (tongue-in-cheek) responding (on behalf of me) to the personal attack (on me) by Henry ........ but yes. Judge us all on results.
  • Hello Mr Rudd, are you the same Mr Rudd from London Zoo?
  • I met a guy there selling raffle tickets, I asked his name for verification reasons and he told me his name was David Rudd. I bought two tickets for two pounds. Did I win David if that was you?

Right ......... in no particular order.

Umm ....... that scenario of me selling raffle tickets in London Zoo was clearly a dream. Please stay off the cheese before bedtime and stop dreaming about me.

And, if it was me (which it wasn't), yes ..... you have won two penguins and an ocelot.

Gorgeous sister? I think not, Tel. There is, of course, my younger brother who we don't speak much about. Blonde, 5ft 9, big chest, big hands?

Although you just reminded me about HER chest....lmao...she would have fared well on the "Would ya" back in the day
  • I think the FF is a good idea in principle and so far agree with their actions. They appear to be making it high profile which is a good thing in my opinion.
  • I tghink the sentiments are right the fans have been patient .
No overdraft , crisis on the pitch .........
