Johnny Williams Current Form Issues

We all love him to bits both as a player and a person, but after Lee's last interview we heard his end product is lacking in terms of final balls and goals and so he's not getting played as much.
He plays so well for Wales he's clearly still brilliant, I just worry that Lee's fading patience is going to hit his confidence and make it worse. What needs to happen for him to be putting those Wales performances in for us?
With Marcus Maddison joining, will that spur him on to improvement or will this make it worse?

Johnys biggest asset is winning free kicks but unfortunately up until now we haven't had anyone to take them.
Hopefully Maddison will change all that.
Johny coming of the bench with half an hour to go and winning free kicks could now become very important for us.1 -
Johnny Williams is outstanding at what he does well, and quite frankly very average at what he doesn't do well.
He has a very niche position but its impossible to build a team around him because he is made of glass.
You need to get the ball to his feet in the attacking 3rd. You need people to run passed him (be that midfielders or full backs) and you need movement from the front 2 to create the space for him. The 2nd half of Leeds at home last season was a master class in Johnny Williams.
He won't score goals, or get that many assists. What he will do is create space for others, keep the ball and pick out the 3rd man runners who will then get the assists.
The tip of the diamond with a Gallagher running past him is perfect for him. If you try and play him wide in a front 3 or flat in a midfield 3 he is bang average. Which is unusual for such a talented, clever, footballer.0 -
