edited March 2009 in General Charlton
Driving through the hard rain on the A2 last night, i got to thinking.....
Deflated - yes, Angry - Not Any more.
I'm just fed up with this set of players. We say a new manager will do this or that to the team.
It doesn't matter if they themselves cannot get up and fight for there professional lives for a game like last night then they are not what i want to see at my club.
Does those players out there represent Charlton to me? No the people around me do, My father and friends.
Bumping into Ollie last night who is not working but is coming along and forking out to get behind these players who couldn't give a toss players i admire him, I question if these players give or show him the respect he deserves on there nice pay packet? I very much doubt!
For me I cant wait for the season to end, Contracts are up thank god Mr Ambrose people say he has got talent well 4 managers of ours and 1 at Ipswich failed to get it out of him. Goodbye Mr youga and your half hearted attempt at a footballer. TBH I couldn't give a flying Fu(k if i didnt see ANY of that team again with the exception Bailey and Jonjo.

Hoist the white flag put us out of misery and let us sod of on our hols, I've had enough!

    A bit harsh IMO.

I certainly don't see the defeat last night down to a lack of effort, which i think is the only real attribute we can demand as supporters. Sometimes you've just got to put your hands up and say we were beaten by a better team.

Yet if luck had been on our side we could easily have won, we certainly had enough chances to nick a couple of goals, and then we would all be saying this morning 'the dream is still alive'.

    Funny old game football.

I just expected them to come out and the encounter to be a real blood and thunder but instead we was five yards of the pace in the midfield in particular.

I can't wait for this season to end as well.

Last night's defeat was not due to lack of effort. That is one thing i can never have a pop at the players about. We are not good enough on a regular basis. Saturday 8/9 players were superb, Last night lucky if only one or two played even well.

    What about Elliot, Racon, Dickson?

they were a better team, they played with more cohesion and like they knew each other. I'm not sure Parky got the lineup right last night for a home game where we really had to go for it, and in such swirling conditions. To play such a flat midfield and only one up I feel was a mistake in the circumstances.
