Now That We Are Down

Now that we are down wouldn't it make sense to return all the players we have on loan, recall the players we have loaned out and take stock of what we have.
We could then have a good look at what we are left with, see how they do and what areas we need to strengthen for next season.
We are skint so I don't expect a lot of money to be spent but if we are careful we could put together a team of Bosmans, free transfers and youngsters that will be good enough to challenge.
We have the backbone of a side with Shelvey and Bailey and a couple more we should hang on to. We could offload ZZ, Ambrose and Weaver and get a bit of money in.
I think we should get rid of Parkinson and get a manager in who is a name and might attract new players, my choice would be Paul Ince
You never know, we could get new owners that might spend a bit.
The re-building starts now!

Apparently Ward is one. It was said on here so probably just a rumour.

With what you've said I also reckon as we are pretty much down I think we should take administration if there is a risk we'll have to take it next year!

Ward has impressed me and I would keep him.
I'm not sure but I think the deadlione for administration was March 1st

Amdinistration will not happen as the majority of our debts are owed to our Board, they would then see a pathetic amount back, so that is not going to happen.

There is a lot more to going into administration than just losing a few points. Thankfully we seem not to be in a position where we need to consider admin, but even if we were it should always be the last option ...........

Spot on and even if it was tactically possible, I can't see the board doing it for integrity reasons if nothing else.

I'd sign Ward up like a shot. I doubt we could afford him even if he wanted to stay which may not be the case.

Don't forget Racon! Must keep hold of him! Wouldn't mind seeing Fortune stay as well.

that was said at the Fans Forum meeting with Chappell and Minty at which they also said they were confident we would stay up. For Ward, Murty, Butterfield etc etc to sign we would have to be in the Championship. They are Championship players and won't want to play in League 1 on less wages.

Players to stay from the starting 11

    Elliott
    Ward
    Fortune
    Basey
    Racon
    Spring
    Shelvey
    Bailey
    Dickson

Hmm not exactly a STRONG looking side! Like to see if bailey could still score up front!

I'll be surprised if Bailey is here next season,Racon is too good for Div 1 so don't be too shocked if he goes as well.

    Mouts - Wages
    Fortune - wages
    Weaver - Wages Contract
Sam - Dont know when the last contract he got was but if it was the last season in the premiership could be on decent wedge.

Let's just hope the Board realise what letting all the quality go over the last two seasons has done!

I do think this is a sensible step we need to hit the ground running next season. So the players that won't be hear should be dropped or benched and we need to test the team we will have next season for the remainder of the season to see were we need to add to it. If we don't have a good start in league 1 next season this could all snowball and we could be in another relegation battle. We can't afford what happened last season were we was buying players for players sake as we had lost so many players due to the relegation and finances.

Shelvey wont stay but at least we can look to get 'fingers crossed' 2 to 3 million for him.
  • would of thought Hudson would be a high earner???

He might stay one season to see if we mount a challenge, he would be silly to move now as he wouldn't get first team football
