What we now need - why we're going down.

Not going completely give up but having a look at the table there is just too much for us to do. We're not going to see a bad season in which teams stay up on 45 points.
With 11 games left we now need a minimum of either-
6 wins 5 draws 0 defeats
7 wins 2 draws 2 defeats
8 wins 0 draws 3 defeats
We've only had 6 league wins all season. We're better than we were, but how are we going to score the goals? We can't keep relying on Bailey.
If we had a goalscorer this team would have a chance. Closest thing to that is putting Dickson back with Kandol and hoping they can link up like they did a few games ago (Plymouth was it?).
We'll give it a go but it would have to be our best form since probably the start of 05/06.

Considering the results in the last two rounds of matches, I don't think 50 points will now be enough to stay up. Out of the bottom 8 only Blackpool are failing to show any form at the moment, I can see all of the rest gaining 4 wins or more from thier remaining matches. Hopefully Parky faces facts and starts planning for next season. :-(0

But the fact is, that mathematically, we can still stay up. The presumption is that we will go down - it is not a fact yet.0 -
It's being realistic, we've won 6 league games all season. We need a minimum of 6 wins and 5 draws, and even then it might not be enough.
Biggest problem is we can't score goals.0 -

Before the weekend I thought we had a chance, but not now and its the performances of others rather than our own that makes me think that. Parky set a target of 50 points before the weekend and I think if he was asked again he'd set the bar higher. I know its still mathematically possible, but with less games to go and more points to get, the probability has shrunk to near zero.0 -

According to the bookies, we now have a 1 in 9 chance of avoiding relegation.0 -

That's not what 9 to 1 on means. Betting odds are not probabilities.
We are still going to go down barring a miracle.0 -

Correct Henry - that's what 8 to 1 on means.0 -

I reckon if 3 teams went into administration we'd still make it hard for ourselves and go down by 1 goal on goal difference. Probably after missing a 90th minute penalty or something.0

Its not the end of the World.
10 years ago 4 'current' Prem clubs were in the 3rd tier(League 2)
Fulham
Man City
Stoke

And we were in process of getting relegated from the Prem ........(!)0
