My old maths teacher at Bexley Grammar School & lifelong Charlton fan passed away early this morning. Last season he was on the pitch before a match getting a presentation for the "special fan" feature they had in the matchday programme.
My thoughts go out to his family.
RIP.

I think he was before my time as I dont remember him but I’m guessing that he was the Collins in Collins house?
Do you know what year he taught until?

He was at Wembley for the club’s triumphant 1947 FA Cup Final win.oohaahmortimer said:
John was 93, I believe. How many others of our fans can still remember watching us win the FA Cup ?

Supporters/people like him are part of what makes us such a special club. Great answers to the questions and wonderful video footage. RIP0

Was lucky enough to meet John last year when he donated these items, that had been taken to the 47 cup final to the museum.
Lovely man and had lots of great stories

RIP J H. I was at Bexley G S and in Collins house until I left in ‘69. Would see J H at the Valley and he always had time for a word if he saw you the following week.0

Plenty of Old Bexleians on here! John was before my time also (90-97) but knew of him through Collins house as well as the special fan stuff last season. Clearly a highly respected man and a dedicated Addick.RIP Mr Collins0
