On this first Saturday of the New Year, we trek all the way to Kingston-upon-Hull, famous for fishing and biting cold winds off the North Sea.
They've not played for 2 weeks because of Covid outbreak and isolation - but still sit 3rd in the table.
Hull City boss Grant McCann: “We will be missing some players. It’s not ideal for us really because we haven’t seen each other for 10 days."
As it stands, they are very much promotion rivals. We need to get a result here.
Lee Bowyer: “We’ll approach the game trying to win it. Looking at them, we’ve come up against their manager on a number of occasions. They’re a good side, they kept most of their squad from coming down last season.”
Apparently only the current 'Gang of Four' long term injuries are still missing, Aneke suspended, of course.
Gawd only knows how Bow will shuffle his pack. The only certainty is it'll be different from our last game.
We can only hope that players will play in their own specialist positions? You know it's a funny thing but that's what they've been trained all their career to do. That's where they play best. As you can guess, I'm not really a fan of square pegs in round holes.
Rumour has it that Rocket Ronnie Schwarz is in the building. If so, he's not registered in time to play today so this is a great opportunity for Omar Bogle to prove his critics wrong. Do it Boges!
Charlton: Amos; Gunter, Pratley, Pearce (C), Matthews; Watson, Forster-Caskey, Maatsen, Morgan; Bogle, Washington

Happy New Year Oggy and all the matchday regulars3
-
God is it Pratley centre back and Matthews on the left again.2
-
First match of the season I won't be buying, and I'm not saddened by that looking at that line up.5

Well I mean we were so good in the first half against Plymouth0
-
FFS play Maddison!!!!!!!!13
-
Is that team line up a joke?
3 players out of position and Maddison on the bench!5 -
is my take on that side0 -
No Maddison start?
Well that's goodnight Vienna then.1 -
Surprised Maddison is not starting. Pretty sure he'd want to get one over Hull.3
-
Rotherham off, pitch was clear about an hour ago0

It’s exactly the same as Boxing Day isn’t it. Just Morgan in for Williams and Bogle in for Aneke
60 mins we either make the subs which should’ve been on from the start or if we’re winning we bring everyone on and play them all in a back 10.2 -
So it looks like Bowyer is persisting with no-left foot Matthews at left back? Un-fecking-believable, following on from his poor showing against the Pilgrims 😡3
-
I was really looking forward to seeing Maddison play. Really frustrating, but hope Bow’s selection pays off.0
-
Looks like Bowyer's decided our left-back is better than Jonny Williams at Williams' position. I mean who knows, he might be, but he's also quite a good left-back1
-
Hoping that it's a 352, with Gunter in the '3' and Matthews and Maatsen as wing backs. If it's Matthews left back then god help us.
Absolutely no idea why Maddison isn't playing either.1 -
I think it's fair to say Bowyer isn't swayed by public opinion going by that line up.8

Ooo so close... Morgan for Maddison and I'd have gotten the line-up spot on
I'm shocked that people dont see how predictable Bowyer is, went for a RB at LB when we played there in June, does it again today!!3 -
Overly defensive side, real struggle if we go 1-0 down.2
