I'll say it now as things are Bowyer is not going to get us promoted be it this season or next
I mentioned a defence which knows each other. They got to know each other by being in the same starting 11 game after game. It doesn’t have to be for years. They obviously managed to create a superb partnership quickly. And we are massively missing that.0 -
Pearce is a professional and will do what he says. He is the captain and will loyally work to sort it out. But the players Bowyer has dug out and the experienced players who know he is setting up wrong. They will be having the conversations behind his back. It is what happens.14

Time for LB to earn his corn and change things around and for the better. I think he’ll do both. When the going gets tough and all that. Not many tougher than Lee Bowyer.4

When we went on our run of wins, we could play defensively because the defence was hard to score against and at this level you can always nick a goal. But when the defence is no longer that hard to score against you have to adapt tactically. Unless you are Bowyer.0

It all needs to go back to basics, playing players in their right position, using a conventional formation that can be trusted for 90 minutes and dropping anything not worth its pay from the squad entirely. Bogle should be moved on, we can do no worse, whatever he has, he has not brought it to this club, Levitt back to Utd, as clearly not a Bowyer type player. Lapslie and Oztumer to also help budget. We need 3-4 signings to play week in week out and make a difference. If not, we will struggle to finish in the top 6. Feels so gloomy when it shouldn’t need to. Best owner in a long while deserves better than this.

The one I don’t really understand is Gilbey - he was completely anonymous today - I just don’t know what his position is supposed to be
He was player of the season at MK - he looks both clueless and lost now. He’s the bloke you used to play with in Sunday League who seemed very busy but made sure he was never really available to receive a pass7 -

Somebody like Sandgaard didn't get where he is by allowing failure to just happen. Not when he can do something about it. Every game he fails to act makes achieving something this season harder. We have a squad strong enough for promotion and it will probably get stronger after this window. Sadly the manager has lost the plot for a while now.1 -

I think him & Purrington should be breaking Bowyers door down asking what do they need to do to get into his current site (can't call it a team as there is no team spirit or any semblance of a working unit).27 -
Ain’t posted in a while, so here it goes.
That was awful all over, I’m not one to slag individuals off usually and I don’t like scapegoating but some things need to be said.
Bogle - one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen in a Charlton shirt and I was at hull away when we lost 6-0 with Rhys Williams centre half. He cocked up every pass, genuinely, every single one, and missed a chance I’d expect a centre back to score.Gilbey - is he still unfit from his earlier injury? He’s just not the player I thought he was, just goes through the motions doing nothing of note, reason I ask about the injury is because start of the season he looked good.
Pratley - if he did what he did, then that was plain stupid for such an experienced pro.
Bowyer - love the man, paid up member of his fan club. But several things today:
- Maatsen at right wing?! That was odd, and if it’s purpose was to double up on Wilks, it failed miserably because he was on his own with so much time for the goal.
- Albie Morgan, our best player IMO, taken off at a crucial time, didn’t look tired to me.
- Williams coming on, great, but why like for like? Surely he should’ve come on for a defensive player.- Maddison, no minutes after that confident boosting wonder strike.
All that said, we miss three key players in Doughty, Innis and Famewo. But when we had the injuries last season we never lacked spirit, we always dug in, we look slightly uninterested of late.Won’t catch me calling for bowyers head yet that’s for sure, but after that backing i think we are fair to expect top six. Anything less you could ask the question.10 -
Could somebody do a poll? It would be an opportunity for fans to show they are behind Bowyer, or maybe not?1

Dreadful, almost unbelieveable 'management' lately.
Can't see Bowyer being our manager by the end of the season, honestly don't think TS will stand for this nonsense.4 -

J BLOCK said:I wish Bowyer would come out and be honest and perhaps take some blame. He won’t though.
We just need him to change what he's been doing.
For our sake and the players' also. You can see they hate playing this way.

I don't think you can turn it round when you lose the dressing room. Sandgaard might as well act now. Maybe get Curbs as a caretaker in and see how it goes. Or JJ and Euell caretakers with Curbs there to help/advise. See how that goes and take it from there at the end of the season.1

He doesn't care because he knows Bowyer has lost the dressing room and will be gone before he is.2

It's clearly a joke based on the fact that he also sat on the bench for Hull a lot last season and they lost all the time.35 - Sponsored links:

I would rather keep Maddison than Bowyer right now.5

I don’t want Bowyer gone but we’ve been totally outplayed by a few sides lately and he still won’t admit it. That worries me greatly. How are we meant to improve as a side if the manager cannot see how poor we’ve been let alone the error of his ways.13

The last few months have seen the confidence knocked from the following player's due to management:
Osh - "Guess he'll get his chance now Pratley is out," what great confidence.
Matthews - Playing out of position
Gunter - One too many games at CB where he has never played in all of his long career
Maatsen - Excellent prospect. Show's some skill so suddenly moved to new positions from LB to LM and RM
Purrington - Dropped from squad as didn't listen to gaffer when came on as sub at LB
Morgan - Start/Sub/Drop
Williams - Drop/Sub/Drop when on form
Maddison - Drop now he's fit and the only creator/scorer from midfield
Bogle - Performances have dropped dramatically and now knows he's likely to be subbed either 30 or 45 mins in
Pratley, Pearce, Watson and Washington seem the only player's given the Senior Pro treatment.
Something isn't right with all the above is it?32 -
The last 12 months seemed to have taken a toll on bowyer and he seems to be default cautious/negative still setting up like underdogs in the championship and scared to over play players for fear of injury.Think he would do well to go back to basis and what made him so refreshing.A team on the front foot attacking without fear. Get an idea of your best 11 and give them minutes and build on it. The constant changing of players is showing and not giving any confidence or plan.Lee still has my support but something needs to change because the rot is setting in.6
