Bit of a defensive panic, but eventually we clear, and now Smyth shoots over the bar. McNulty and Chuks appear to have had a bit of argey bargey and McNulty was down for a bit but is now up.

No, he absolutely shouldn't. The men on the sides of a back three have to be able to go out to the wings to close attacks down. Deji is more mobile and is also capable of playing at fullback so it makes perfect sense for him to play there. You do not want Pearce lumbering out to speedy players just because he stands on his left foot. Everything else is going wrong but this at least makes sense
