The last 2 games his come on as sub I don’t think his managed to get anywhere near most of our long balls out of deference. You need to a least challenge the defender. Bogle still done this and was when he got dragged of early. But twice now Aneke has done it and nothing is said. How people think his good enough to play in championship is beyond me.Even bowyer said if he didn’t have issues he’d be comfortably playing at a higher level.9 -
About 5 days left to the window closes and we’re got two outgoing players in Smyth and Bogle. Imagine the important question is whether they release enough funds on the wage bill to allow us to bring another player in this window.

Thought Liam was outstanding last night, at both ends of the pitch.
Did concern me though if he picked up a knock / injury where the forward impetus would come from, could still do with a Liam mark 2 type of player, if the cap fits signing.8 -

aneke is big, strong and mobile. Bogle is big strong and immobile.
anekes being mobile allows him to run at defenders which scares them. Not only does him running at goal create chances for himself, but also others. Schwartz v rochdale springs to mind. Snake running at defenders caused a hack last nigh. He also came back to help the defenders last night abs was carrying the ball forward when the whistle went.
bigle plays more back to goal which means the ball goes back rather than forward. The problem is that the ball often goes back to a different colour shirt. Bogle creates very few chances for himself or others in comparison to Aneke.
Bogle has only scored 20% of the goals that Aneke has. I’m not sure of the minutes played by both but I would it is relatively even.
Aneke looks like he will create or score most times he is on the pitch. Bogle doesn’t.
when bogle leaves, I will not lose sleep. He is another kandol, sodje and abbot. People defend him because he is a Charlton player and I get that, he just isn’t a very good Charlton player.

He needed a bit of confidence and you can bet your bottom dollar that he will score goals once he has gone, probably against us lolHard to argue he's done well overall but he's certainly been decent in patches, and there are definitely valid arguments to be made as to why he's not been more of a success not being purely down to his own lack of ability or application. I would certainly say that he's been nowhere near as bad as some of the hyperbole on here and twitter would suggest. With Aneke and Stockley around he's third choice in the target man role, so if we need to free up wages there are probably areas of the squad with less depth that the wages could be better spent on reinforcing. That being said, as I stated elsewhere on here, he ain't bad for a third choice at League 1 level and with Chuks so injury prone I'd ideally prefer to keep Bogle around as backup. It's been a persistent problem that we've had two players for every position but one of them is always injured meaning the other one has to play too many matches and will eventually break down themselves. We're constantly chasing our tails trying to get everyone fit and I worry that could happen with Chuks and Stockley if one of them goes out injured. I can't see a front two of Washington and Schwartz working well at all with no one to hold the ball up and bring the midfield into play.
Chuks missed a sitter against Swindon and nobody said a word against him and it was a sitter .
all strikers miss chances, fact.
the reason that bogle gets criticised is because he misses lots of chances two score two goals. Snake scores often.
Snake 4 goals in 25 games
But it must be hard at big boy school if he can't mange 1 in 5.Bogle played 17 (started 12 of them) 2 goals in 856 mins = 1 goal every 428 mins= 1 goal every 4.75 gamesTaylor played 25 (started 13 of them) 4 goals in 1363 mins = 1 goal every 340 mins = 1 goal every 3.78 games1 -

whats so funny about my post @Showmetheway2gohome?
What have I said that isnt true? Do you honestly believe that Bogle is better than Aneke?
Wiki their stats. Bogle scored lots of goals at national league North Level and then did well for Grimsby at national league and league 2 level. Since he has left grimsby, his best scoring season is 4. Yes, 4!! Our full backs have 4 between them this season. " by a guy that made his first start in over 10 games!!! Are you telling me that those stats are impressive?
Aneke by comparison has hit double figures 4 times at league one level.
Aneke isnt Jimmy Greaves but he is a very good league 1 player. Bogle isnt even Robert Rosario and his stats suggest that non league/league 2 is his level. Just because doncaster are reportedly interested, doesnt make him a good player3 -
Stockley showed yesterday what we've been missing all season in the forward role. Ability in the air, chest trap, a shot on goal and no strops/dozy moments. He also set the first up with a nice flick out wide, to which he nearly finished but obviously got a loud call so left alone.

Sorry if i've missed something on here, but my son keeps mentioning this geezer @ Exeter, any chance of getting him , i'm probably getting him mixed up with another player so will probably put the wrong name down, , is it Randell Williams?

Bowyer and Gallen dont think he's worth the £1m yet on a handful of League Two games1 -

I like Aneke but for me, you could see Stockley is a cut above Chuks, he will be a very handy addition for us!1

Jeeeeesus. Transfers? Or change the thread title to Aneke v Bogle or whatever36

Be interesting to see if anything actually gets done , think it could end up being a quiet one with a few outs . Unless someone that's an instant starter out wide became available.1

Think we need to move a few on before anyone else comes in. Maybe 2-3 out and one or two in but that's likely to be it at the most0

Showmetheway2gohome said:Why you still comparing bogle to Aneke. Bogle is going. You need to compare Aneke to Stockley now Stockley will replace bogle as scapegoat now because he won’t score as many goals. 😀Really can’t understand why so many of you having orgasms Over Aneke.2

Stockley looked good - an out and out target man / aerial threat - a specialist - chucks is a bit more of an all rounder and will go past players but definitely 1 or other needs to be on the pitch for that physical presence and i think Curbs was onto something, suggesting they both play. That could be a good shout - once Stockley is fully match fit, he can play the full game and Chucks and Schwarz can rotate. Be a right handful with them 2 up top.5

The question of why is everyone so positive about Aneke is because he is currently the best we have and he is statisticly one of the best strikers in our league. Last year he couldn't get on the pitch because of injuries and purple were saying 'let him go'/stealing a living/L2 at best.
This year with a different fitness regime he has already contributed more minutes/goals and impact on our team. He also causes more problems for opposition defenders with his power, pace and directness because he generally plays 'facing the goal', whereas Bogle generally plays with his back to goal so will always be more of a threat than Bogle.
People questioned whether or not Lyle Taylor was Championship quality, he showed with the team setup right to play to his strengths that he was. The team is setup more for Aneke to perform to his strengths than Bogle (I'm concerned we don't get enough crosses in for Stockley to really do well too!). BWP didn't perform in the Championship, and his MLS success is down to the standard not being as good as the Championship.

Be a right handful with them 2 up top.Front 3 but with Aneke dropping off to drive at them. So almost like a 10 or false 9 or whatever rather than one striker and two wide. That potentially sacrifices Millar though who is mega important for us at the minute0

I thought Bogle looked the best he has looked in his last two appearances. It is clear that confidence was a factor in some admittedly poor performances and it is for the best he goes. I'd rather he not go to a promotion rival though as I think he is better than many say. I have been a Charlton fan long enough to know he will score against us later in the season!2
