Aneke needs to be signed up. It won't be easy to find a replacement for him.5
-
Well, we have a good away record so we could get some points this weekend??
I am finding it very difficult to feel positive lately but still live in hope. I also find it implausible that a win will suddenly change our indifferent performances and set us on a winning run. So much gloom around.
As an aside: How depressing is it that we have signed so many players with injury histories who spend weeks and months in the treatment room? Perhaps we should rename ourselves from Charlton Athletic to BUPA.3 -
I think we’ll see Schwartz come in for Aneke rather than Washington1
-
Agree with this, can't see wash starting over Shwartz when Washington is only just back from injury. Would prefer to be playing 2 up front with Stockley and Shwartz, but then we'll be over-run in midfield with a flat 4-4-2, I don't like the defence in a 3-5-2, and the Diamond hasn't really worked for us this season. That's why I would go for a 4-3-2-1 with the two being DJ and Millar.LonelyNorthernAddick said:

Leaving aside the on field side, I'm gutted to not be there in person on Saturday. I always enjoy my trips to Fleetwood, indeed I had a 100% attendance record for our games there!
Fleetwood is to me Blackpool, but with a terrace and a nice tram ride

I personally went for Washington over Schwartz in my Preview as think Conor offers more when we dont have the ball, and away from home you'd "expect" that to be the case a little bit more - Of course wouldnt be surprised to see Schwartz ahead of him because of the recent recovery from injury for ConorLonelyNorthernAddick said:

As Muttley says though, I think (and would quite like) we'll see Stockley being flanked by DJ and Millar1 -
Oh, I am sure the local care homes will have somebody with brittle fitness and a tendency to get puffed out very quickly.MuttleyCAFC said:Aneke needs to be signed up. It won't be easy to find a replacement for him.0 -

Just for your benefit, I think Chuks is virtually unplayable on his day and next to impossible to replace.
I have a major bee in my bonnet about our club's injury and fitness issues0 -
So you agree we should try to get him signed up on a new contract.0

1-1 with a late Fleetwood goal.

To be fair I took it the same way Muttley did so maybe a smiley isn't a bad idea.Six-a-bag-of-nuts said:

In this league yes, as I think he would be a major asset.MuttleyCAFC said:So you agree we should try to get him signed up on a new contract.
In the championship he is unproven and we know his fitness needs to be "managed", so I guess I might hold fire for a bit and see which way this season pans out0 -
I am genuinely surprised, but duly notedChunes said:

I am just getting so frustrated watching us struggle to win games, when I am convinced we have the better players.
A convincing win on saturday will be happy to show how fickle I am0 -
“Ryan [Inniss] had his scan and the specialist said we can step things up. He has another scan in two weeks, after that we’re hoping he can crack on properly and be in and around us not long after that.
My bet that we will not see Famewo and Inniss together again is looking good, sadly. To interpret Bowyer 'Inniss had his scan and the specialist said we can step things up' means Inniss can actually walk now. 'He has another scan in two weeks' means whatever is wrong with him is obviously not fixed. 'after that we're hoping he can crack on properly' means he can disappear into the Gilbey place for a while where his name is never mentioned. 'And be in and around us not long after that' means a bit of light training, has a setback when slipping in the shower, some more scans, some 'minutes' ( I have really come to hate that term) in reserve games for a few weeks , tackles Chuks in training and has another setback, some scans, some training, some more 'minutes', some sub bench appearances and then.... we have 12 weeks left in the season, but he should be fit for August.5 -
I think LB said he was jogging a few weeks ago and felt fine but they had to wait for the scan. So he's definitely been doing stuff, rather than just now being able to walk.Southbank said:“Ryan [Inniss] had his scan and the specialist said we can step things up. I think he's gone from running on the grass in football boots to now most likely doing light ball work and non contact stuff.
In two weeks if he's holding up, I expect he'll be starting contact training and 2 weeks after another scan to confirm he can play again.
So I assume he will be back in another 4 weeks at best.
This is assumption based on what we've heard so far, combined with experience of a quad issues and the physio path back to running/playing football again.

3-1 win leaving us all scratching our heads and living in hope of a winning run again.
Stockley, Schwartz (I really hope as I want him to be a huge success) and Millar0 -
what's the point of Smith signing!7
-
Loving the rose tinted brigade backing Schwartz to score, I doubt he will even play.0
-
Really need to win this I think especially after other results going on around us.
Less and less confident each week I have to say but I think we scrape a 1-0 win Saturday Stockley to score0 -
