All time means since you have been going (which for me is since the early 90s). And best doesnt necessarily mean most talented... luke young was technically better than stevie brown, and darren bent better than garry nelson... but just who you enjoyed wearing the shirt - and likewise, for worst it could be someone who wasnt that bad, but cost a lot or was just a to sser
Off the top of my head (ive probably missed loads, especially on the worst team)

Worst

On reflection ilics inclusion is extremely harsh, even though he did turn out to be s hite. stick weaver in instead0

omar Pouso???0

I would try and fit Diawara in the worst somewhere, but there are so many to choose from. I would put Bent up with Mendonca as the man almost single-handedly keep us in the Prem, Carson also did well to be fair. Oh and I may put Marcus up with Hasselw**k.
Oh and where is Dickson in our best XI

The man did perhaps provide along with Clive the greatest Charlton moment of all time, had JJ scored a hatrick in that game alot of people would leave him out simply for that..........................nah wait he was still w**k!!!0 -
Christ how did i miss marcus bent? i did want to put diawara in but i was trying not to be too biased against the dowie era. i meant graham stuart0
-
'We all dream of a team of El Khalej, a team of El Khalej, a team of El Khalej',
I remember singing this when he was warming up, never felt so sorry for a player in my life, no wonder he left.0 -
JJ was a striker!0
-
He played a hell of a lot of games out on the right wing as well, in fact the majority of the latter part of his time with us he was out there - plus hes got too much competition for a forward berth0

Very hard to choose a worst team as there are so many candidates! I've probably forgotten somebody more deserving!0 -

Perhaps you could find a place for Dietmar Bruck, Hugh McAuley, Ralph Milne, Gordon Riddick, Billy Lansdowne ( and virtually anyone bought by Mullery) and Johnny Ostergaard?0 -
I stopped reading there. Unbefuckinglievable.[cite]Posted By: SE7[/cite]I would try and fit Diawara in the worst somewhere,0 -

Best:
John Barnes
Good god. This thread was a poor idea, it's brought out some insanity. Not just Chizz's Barnes amongst club greats, there are players who genuinely played two matches in the worst ever piles.
On the other hand, all the players I know in Len's list look in the right place and I'm prepared to believe that someone has put a bit of thought and experience into it. Maybe it'd have been better if all posters had stated the years that they were picking from, on reflection.0 -

I didn't say he was at his best when he played for Charlton. But as a player who represented England 79 times, I thought he was worth a place.0 -
On that basis, Hasselw*nk would be in the best XI not the worst XI....0

What, no Jeffers in any of the 'worsts'?0

Jeffers was bad but i think hes just up against too much stiff competition up front0

I do mean in terms of value for money there, he was truely w**k, and as I am only 18, I am only talking in terms of what I have seen.0 -
I agree completely mate, shocking, his performance at wigan... However he wasnt bad in a consistently comedy way like phil chapple who just had a unique knack for tripping himself over and scoring spectacular own goals0
