1)..............Errrrr
Sorry. All their songs are sh1te! And I've only ever heard one: that crappy Christmas one with Kirsty McCall.
Crap.Crap.Crap.0 -
I only know the songs off "Rum Sodomy and the Lash", of which I would say:
1 A Pair of Brown Eyes
2 Sally MacLennane
3 The Old Main Drag
are terrific, in that order.
Dirty Old Town, And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda also lovely songs though not Pogues originals.0 -
Rainy Night in Soho should be top of the list - a beautiful song by any measurement you might care to use.0

Agree, agree, agree. Can´t stand the Pogues.0 -
Do they have 5 top songs???????
Utter tripe.0 -
Shane MacGowan is IMHO a songwriting genius. Would agree with most of choices above and hard to choose 5, but would add:
Lullaby of London
White City
Misty Morning Albert Bridge
Sick bed of Cuchulain
Streets of sorrow
Shane really captured the dark side of London well.
Rum, Sodomy & The Lash and If I shall fall.....are great albums. Sad to hear the folk above state "all their songs are crap etc", as though they are some great authority. Hard to understand given the Pogues very diverse range of music. Great live band also.0 -
I´m not claiming to be any authority, just saying I don´t like their music and, therefore, to me, they are crap.0
-
yes but this a thread for people to talk about there top five?0
