2020-21 CL Prediction League Week 23 Results and Cup Qtr Final Scores (plus Predictochart 20-21)

When Michal Helik lashed in a second goal for Barnsley on Saturday to give The Tykes 2-1 lead over Millwall, there was something to celebrate amid the gloom of Blackpool's runaway win at The Valley. However, to @cafcwill, it signalled the start of 30 minutes or so of tension. Thankfully, the score didn't change and @cafcwill netted three Prediction League points to lose the title of longest streak of 1 or less - a run that started twelve a few weeks ago.

Personally, I spent more time than usual choosing my predictions this week. I swithered over six candidates. I don't know why I bothered; they were all wrong. More decisive and boosted by last week's position at top of the National South, it was @stonemuse who was this week's star with an impressive 7 points. @theeenorth and @Dansk_Red were not far behind with a well-earnt 6 points.

It was Cup Quarter Finals week. In the main competition, @redlanered proved too strong for @ThreadKiller with a comfortable 3-0 win, but @theeenorth from the Championship travelled to @StrikerFirmani and won 6-0. The other two games ended in draws and will replay next week - Premier League stars, @tommo and @GoOnYouHaddocks drew 1-1 while @croydonaddick from League 1 drew 0-0 with @Miserableoldgit. In the Johnstones Paint Prediction Cup, Cup holder @BertieB stays in the competition after a 0-0 draw with @flyingkiwiDK, while @Carl Leaburn from the National League produced the upset of the week with a gutsy 4-3 win at Premier League @dajavouslagan. @PaddyP17 of the Premier League is safely through to the semi-finals with a comfortable 3-0 win away to @SheffieldRed. @IdleHans is also through to the semis with 3-1 win away to @Charlton_Stu.

    Will the pressure get to @redlanered? No, it's never been achieved before. Also, @BertieB would be the first to retain a Cup.

    I'm glad you liked it. Actually, it only took me about 15 minutes - I wish I had thought of it before. I plan to reproduce it every few weeks now that it's programmed. Hope you get back to the green colours soon, @eaststandmike.
