When I saw that their shop is selling 16 different types of shorts, I thought it must be a sales thing. Do they really need to sell that many? Also noted that the away shorts are one of only two sets of sorts that aren't heavily discounted at the moment.killerandflash said:It was a bit weird that Barnsley at HOME to Birmingham wore black shorts, with Birmingham wearing their home strip. Not sure of the logic why the home side would change their kit
Then I compared it with our shop. My search revealed no less than 21 Items described as shorts. Though in true Charlton fashion three of those are actually jackets.
Personally I find it odd that clubs with such comparatively small supporter bases have the demand for such variety.0 -
I reckon it could make a difference, a bit like Jimmy Hill and the Romanian haircuts.oohaahmortimer said:Surely the players are more used to passing to players in red .
It could cost us a fraction of a second , probably not but I’m sure playing in red is more helpful than playing in blue .0 -
Didn't we have one like that with diagonal stripes?1

I like the blue and black kit , personally I don't like a yellow away kit.0

Slightly
Off topic: when the tram gets the train to an away hame does some poor git have to lug bags of kit around ?0 -
I like the blue kit1

They probably had to wear it at least once to justify having it for sale in the shop!0

The kit goes in the team coach.SamB09 said:Slightly

Me too I especially like how much our badge stands out on it.Bedsaddick said:I like the blue kit1 -

Well I never knew that, that's when we went to Catford wasn't it ?Ross said:http://kitclassics.co.uk/kits/charlton.png12 blue away/third kits over the years, plus the blue home kit in 19231 -
I did like that Sea Blue and Denim stripe away kit we wore in 2007-08.
Particularly it looked fabulous under floodlights. In my mind's eye, I can still see Andy Reid running half the length of the pitch to put in a cross that Chris Iwelumo met with a thundering header on the run, the last minute winner at Bristol City.

Does anyone else see a kit and immediately visualise a player? As soon as I saw this, it was Simon Webster.killerandflash said:1 -

You can still see some of the landscaping of the stadium in
Mountsfield Park SE6 entrance on the South Circular......Brownhill Road.0 -
I suppose that if you have a blue third kit and a grey second kit, you are going to have to wear it one or two times when there isn't a clash or what is the point of having it?0

We shouldn't wear blue, we just shouldn't, and anyway, this kit is purple, just looking at the one my son has received today, and it's on the purple end of blue1

It always impressed me that Man U wear red shirts with black shorts for key away games like against City, rather than one of their change strips. Yes they're a massively commercial club, but it doesn't completely dominant their thinking1

Got to have something to complain about.lordromford said:Didn’t bother me.
Not sure why some of you are so irritated by it. Reminds me of how some Spurs fans refuse to have any red on anything they wear.
I often mention on here when I’m irritated by kits when they clash and, admittedly, wearing blue today was unnecessary as red wouldn’t have clashed. But blue didn’t clash either, so I don’t see an issue. It’s not like we’ve never worn blue before either.
I don’t know. Seems like a non-issue to me.0 -
I got more of a birmingham city feel from our third kit. millwall are more navy blue.1
