Amos: 6.5 - not much to do, good in the air, some wayward distribution,
Gunter: 6.5 - got forward but left some gaps going forward
Pratley: 7 - Ok at centre back
    Pearce: 7 - good
    Maatsen: 7 - good performance
Watson: 7 - good in the middle
Millar: 6 - better on the left, struggled on the right
    F-C;  7 - good
Morgan: 6 - better on the right, bit disjointed on the left
    Stockley: 6 - worked hard
Washington: 8 - good energy, worked hard and end product with 2 good goals
    Referee: 6

Aneke: n/a - made a difference when he came on
Shinnie: n/a - assist for Conor Washington's second, some good link up play
    Smith: n/a
    Schwartz: n/a

Lee Bowyer -I wish LB would play players in their natural positions. Charlton better when Millar played on the left and Albie Morgan on the right

Amos: 6 Nothing much to do
Gunter: 6.5 Very decent, little defensive work required.
Pratley: 7 Pretty faultless, I'm pleased Bowyer chose Prats over Oshilaja.
    Pearce: 7 Very solid.
Maatsen: 7 Played better, but as per others, little defensive work required.
Watson: 7 Did well shielding the defence.
Millar: 6.5 Quiet game but did ok.
F-C; 7 Quietish game but did ok & won the penalty (not sure it was a pen).
Morgan: 7 Same as the rest.
    Stockley: 6.5 Decent
Washington: 7.5 Did ok but scored twice, so he has to be my MOM.
Referee: 8.5 Can't recall a mistake apart from our penalty, which was debateable.

    Amos:  5  Untested
    Gunter:  5  As above
Pratley:  6  Always a stern presence.  No nonsense
Pearce:  6  A warrior, as ever
Maatsen:  5  Dull, thoughtless - and vulnerable
Watson:  5  Dull - yet efficient
Millar:  7  Unlike Alfie Doughty, here is a young academy winger who skins opponents and is dangerous at the box
F-C;  4.5  Fills the headless chicken role left by Lapslie.  Can't even cross properly from a corner
Morgan: 4.5  Agricultural.  Another CAFC graduate with no finesse whatsoever
Stockley:  6.5  Good striker.  Searches for the ball in midfield; sets up attacking moves when midfield often fails.  Dangerous with headers
Washington:  5.5  No stamp of authority.  Should learn from Stockley
Referee:  7  Played well; question-mark over our soft pen; otherwise, faultless

    Amos 6
    Gunter 6
    Pratley 6.5
    Pearce 7 (7.5 -.5 for that miss)
    Maatsen 6
Watson 7.5 more than meriting his place at the moment
JFC 7 even on his quiet days he makes us look better
Millar 5 please someone teach him how to lay a good pass... he'd be so good!!
Morgan 7 thought he showed some really classy touches
    Stockley 6.5
Washington 8 MoM. Really nice pen.

Ref 6. First viewing I'd give it the other way, now I think it's a foul both ways.

Amos: 7 - Good handling and looked more assured than he did at Oxford.
Gunter: 7 - Made some good runs off the ball and was pretty steady.
    Pratley: 7 - Defended well.
Pearce: 7 - Same as Pratley. Kept it simple.
    Maatsen: 6 - Steady enough.
Watson: 7 - Coming into some form.
Millar: 6.5 - The late run summed him up. Burnt past two men but his cross was cut out almost before it reached the penalty area. Had a one one one first half on the edge of the area but dithered and got blocked off. Needs to keep it simple....beat one man and either shoot or cross. But he did carry a threat and that kept Northampton in check.
F-C; - 6.5 - Same energetic stuff as Saturday. We are so much better with him in the side because he at least hustles and wins the ball. Wasn't too far off with his free-kick.
Morgan: 7 - Looked very lively 1st half.
Stockley: 6.5 - Worked hard but didn't get too much service.
Washington: 8 - Without the goals he was possibly still pick of the players. He caught the eye with his runs and a couple of very good pieces of control (something that he has lacked recently). Took the second goal very nicely.
    Referee:

Aneke: n/a - Gave us a different dimension and did very well for the 2nd goal.
Shinnie: n/a - Seemed pretty sharp when he came on.
Smith: n/a - As Shinnie. Got involved immediately.
    Schwartz: n/a

Gunter: 6.5 Overlapping runs were good today, think I prefer him and Morgan rhs.
Pratley: 7  Won his battles and made hard yards, difference between him and Oshi in the middle is the ball doesn't come straight back from a clearance.
Pearce: 8  What a joy to see and hear him.  We're way too quiet and team disorganised without him.
Maatsen: 7.5  Much better, key interceptions as well.
Watson: 7.5  Very good, always seems to be the one whose sloppy play turns our ascendancy into their pressure.  Last night fortunately it didn't.  A lot down to JFC
Millar: 6.5  Strange he won't go outside on rhs even in space.
F-C; 8  Similar to Watson but more importantly than Watson he brought energetic closing down and pressure off the ball.  Looks fit again.
Morgan: 7  Only one in team willing to hit early cross.  More importantly brought a much zippier closing down.  Let one NFC player get a slight run on him, but was diligent and fouled him when needed.  Great to see.
Stockley: 6.5  Good first half, lot of work, not so effective 2nd half:  More down to our play.
Washington: 8.5  Would be 7.5 without the goals.  Work rate was immense, a vast difference to Aneke who blocks angles out of possesion whilst Washington harries and doubles up with the fullback.  MoM

Referee:  7  Mainly impressed.  Young ref that dealt well with our moaning old pros.  Terrible challenge for our pen, but not sure I'd be happy with it against us:  Jon Brady's wrong though as Sowerby can't just jump into space and hope for the call to be his, he was too far away to aggressively block the space without questions.
  • Amos: 6.5 - Solid
Gunter: 6.5 - Snuffed anything they had out but can't cross
Pratley: 7 - Out of position and you wouldn't have known it.
Pearce: 7.5 - Back to the old Pearce which is great to see
Maatsen: 7 - Much better today.
Watson: 8 - MOTM - Broke down their attack brilliantly
Millar: 6 - Less effective on the right, but can't cross it seems
JFC; 7.5 - Everything moves through him and cleans up nicely in midfield
Morgan: 6 - Thought he was pretty absent myself but Bows full of praise
Stockley: 6.5 - Won the aerial battles but we become predictable with him upfront
Washington: 7.5 - OK penalty but went in, good finish for the second, ran them ragged
Referee: 6.5 - Thought he was pretty good and consistent

Aneke: Think we have much more with him on the pitch
    Shinnie: n/a
    Smith: n/a
