Being 2 nil down was obviously the kick up the backside we needed

Its is a sad truth about this squad that without Pratley or Watson at defensive mid, we are a pushover in defence.
    No it's not. That's bull.

A poor penalty to concede and an awful goalkeeping error are at fault today.

    Also Millar toothless.
Not quite. Rovers have had more than enough chances to have had more than 2 goals. A player like Pratley or Watson is essential, moreso in terms of the profile than the individual. They've both struggled this season but without them we lack a physical presence in midfield. Our first priority in the summer has to be getting in a mobile, powerful midfielder

Luckily after a bit of defensive frailty JFC gets fouled in our area and we have a free kick.

Felt Stockley brought the free kick

But thought he was clever as the ref has been giving lenient fouls so dont blame him
The referee has given soft free kicks against Stockley, he’s entitled to expect the same treatment in return

    Was that the 5-4 game?

We have got to find another outlet other than long balls to Stockley, too many getting cut out

*sigh* Maatsen does some good work to hold off the player and keep the ball in, but then gives it away.

Jacko may be a crap manager... time will tell but he's a fighter..
  • Great spirit from the players to come back, like a delayed new manager bounce

All the weaknesses of this squad on display this half. Basic defensive errors, allowing the oppo to score from outside the box, dubious goalkeeping, inabilility to measure an accurate pass. We could have been 4-0 down.
Yet, 2 good goals and we may still be in it, extraordinary.

At kick-off, I decided Jackson should be given the permanent job. At 2-0 down, I decided he would be a terrible appointment. At 2-2, I think he deserves a chance.

Need a change on the left side. Maatsen and Millar costing us goals with poor play. Get Deji playing left back and push Maatsen forward where his mistakes are further away from goal and less likely to be disasterous.
So replace one shit defender with another shit defender, playing on the wrong side. That'll work.
    Got any better ideas?

Play Purrington would be a start.

For tonight play 3 at the back.
Purrington - excellent idea if he was on the bench.

Three (five) at the back is way too negative for this fanbase in their current mood.

What has Barton got to be moaning at ref for?

Why are we giving Millar gametime. He is woeful in the final third.

We sign Jaiyesimi on a permanent 2.5 year contract, so give him a run of games and stop giving gametime to an underperforming loanee.
  • Well, about 10 minutes into that I felt like we looked better going forwards, but even more of an accident waiting to happen at the back.

And I guess the scoreline represents that.

Exciting game to watch at least. Think they will be more goals.

Whatever else I didn’t watch that half yearning for Pratley or Watson.
JFC has daylight for player of the season in my view.
  • Barton arguing away with the referee as they go off!

HT, so towards THE COVERED END it is, but sorry to say should be without Stockley, he seems to be out of it, we need Chuks "The Beast" Aneke on for the second half, and maybe DJ for Albie on the right

Well, aside from two individual moments of quality and the work rate of Washington it’s been pretty dreadful. I don’t think we really deserve it but somehow we’re back in the game. Hopefully we will now see the  reaction in the second half that we’d hoped to see in the first half, but so far removing Bowyer has been no silver bullet.

I’m tired of the old shit, let the new shit begin.
